Atheists... do you think that anyone who doesn't believe in evolution should not be able to take the medicine that had been discovered b/c of evolution?

Thanks for your answers all. H.A.N.D. (H.ave A. N.ice D.ay)

Maybe, for treatments like TB, which are completely based on the fact that the TB bacteria has evolved do be resistant to our old treatments. We should give those who don't believe in evolution the old treatments.

Then again, there are those who believe in neither evolution, nor creationism (why are these the only 2 implied choices?)

Babies, for example. Personally, I believe medically necessary proceedures that can save lives should not be withheld from that population, just because evolution is beyond their understanding.

Then again, I do not think it's worth saving those who obviously will not make it. Anencephalic kids (fetuses with no brain) o acardic kids (fetuses with no heart) come to mind.

I'm not an Atheist, but I believe in evolution. I don't see why one's belief system should be a factor as to whether or not they should be able to take a medicine, regardless of how it was discovered/developed.

Skeptics have never had a problem with anyone taking any medicine of any type. I personally have issues with some TCM medicines, but that is me. It seems that it is the "religious" themselves who object most voiciferously, and we all know who those are, without having to point.

Yes, I also think those who oppose animal testing should be allowed to use drugs tested on animals-which would be all drugs.
I also think people who get sick because of smoking, drinking etc. should get health care too. Some guy who gets AIDS because he had sex with 10000 men at a bathouse should get treatment too. It's not a doctor's job to make moral judgments.

Medicine was not discovered because of evolution, it's just something that men have made out of things God created.

Of course they should be allowed. Have some compassion.

But if they think Evolution is of the devil (Which I've heard several of them say), they should be morally obligated to refuse treatment.

If they thought it was evil or "just a theory" and used it anyway, that would make them hypocrites.

My husband an atheist before he was in a foxhole and he said the foxhole did nothing to convince him otherwise. Quite the opposite.
