Fundamentally, are these the two spiritual paths?

Until your consciousness is elevated, you are identifying with being a part (or individual parts) of the whole. As your consciousness expands and rises, you begin to identify with being the "whole".

To clarify, perhaps these are 2 separate questions, both with personally spiritual significance:

1) To be whole: to be aware of self, know yourself, accept yourself, warts and all, without judgement or complaint, to be comfortable in your own skin, to be one with yourself. However you see it, this question deals with your relationship with yourself.

2) To be part of a whole: realizing the entire universe is one big banana and realizing your place/role as a kahuna in the banana. Being at peace and harmony with your environment, realizing external stresses that tend to creep into everyday life are just ripples of reality that you flow with rather than fight against. This question deals with your relationship with your world, your reality.

It takes both halves to complete the picture.

Be the whole because at times when you are part of a whole you are judged for their mistakes. Yet do not change your mind about what you believe, never let others influence you.

There are two part of ourselves, which is the flesh and the spirit. Make both one and your shall be a true MAN of God. Flesh is individual, while the spirit is loose and combines almost like water, but is why we have a body to controll it and that is why we are here... I think.

I am but one drop of water, in with the one stream water of righteouness.-ME

Good question. The experience aways points back or to the whole. So my answer would be "one life, or one truth".
