in a healthy relationship (e.g. marriage) yes it is important. its not on the top of the list but its important because it connects you and your partner in a close intimate way, you learn to know your partner inside out. plus it feels good for you too. plus its important to satisfied your partner in a relationship ans so that includes having satisfying sex.
if your single , its not important at all. you dont have to go round having sex. people just do it because they insecure and think to them selfs "I'm well liked , people sleep with me, they must like me. i must be pretty, coz people sleep with me. I'm popular , look how well known i am. etc etc" if your single sex is sex and nothing more.

sex has so many different meanings these days.Some people just want a quick booty call (which is good for the man but not the girl).Some use it as expressing love(Which is important for both).Some do it to be cool and stand out.For some reason some people think of it as a reputation builder.Youre a virgin?Stay a virgin until you decide to share it with someone you love.When you love someone.....sex has more meaning and it feels better.Not only physically but emotionally and mentally.
