Nothing. Why is dancing a crime and what's wrong with the song? Truthfully there's nothing to worry about unless you're freaking out all the time and she feels like she can't talk to you because you only disapprove of her.

If you really feel she should be punished, since she's your child, you should sit down with her and ask her why she thought what she was doing was OK. Get her side of things first, this might lighten the mood for you to talk to her, and actually have a conversation. Then tell her why you disapproved of it. Think about your reasons first, because she might question you. If there is still need for punishment after this, take into consideration that she can still dance without music. She can also still listen to music when you're not around. The punishment has to be about the crime, not about the song or music or anything unrelated to the crime itself. She didn't write the song, and she didn't invent the dance. Try and make her punishment productive, rather than regressive. Taking things away alot of the time doesn't work. Make her read about where the dance she was dancing originated, and where the music she was listening to came from. Make her find 5 GOOD reasons why you should allow her to behave in this way. You look up the music and the dance as well, so that you know whether or not the things she's telling you are legitimate. Remember that if she knows about what she's doing, she might not be so inclined to do it, and she might learn something. Hope that helped. :)

I dont see anything wrong with that. My daughter is almost ten and she dances to almost all hip hop songs i dont mind her doing that but what i would mind about is if the words are obsene and she knows it but most of the time she is never interested in the words but beats and she dances to those beats. I sometime watch her dance and she loves it and so do i and i also sometime do dance because its fun especially the song gasolina the beats really kills me. I have to let her be and when she is out of line i will sit her down and explain why that thing she has done is wrong when she does it again thats when i can punish her. Sometimes not purnishing her is more punishment than punishing her. She sometimes beg me to purnish her if i refuse to do so you know why because its makes her feel even more guity if you dont purnish them but dont do it frequently she will get used to it.

why do you want to punish her? It is just another dance number and people are supposed to dance with it...
Whats bothering you? I'm slightly confused.
Edit: I haven't found the lyrics as offensive as well..
"Ladies up in here tonight
No fighting, no fighting
We got the refugees up in here
No fighting, no fighting
Shakira, Shakira
I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man want to speak Spanish,
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
Shakira, Shakira
Oh baby when you talk like that
You make a woman go mad
So be wise and keep on
Reading the signs of my body
And I'm on tonight
You know my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection "

I dont know that term but it must be seriously wrong for you as you are asking for punishment. I personally dont believe in punishment, I do however believe in talking to your child about how you dont like this dance. She will get the point better than punishment, dont you think?

Children love wild things, especially music. So unless there are others incidences to justify punishment, maybe you should talk to her about your feelings before striking out at something that you consider bad. She may just consider that song it Innocent fun. Also, all her school friends are probably dancing to the song as well. If you punish her for something that she does not consider bad, then she will think that you are unjust, not her.

well does she know that she can't dance to that? cause if she doesn't know that she couldn't dance to that don't punish her. but if it were a situation where she was dancing and you heard the lyrics and decided it was bad music pick something alternative to dance to. Cause obviously she likes dancing so don't punish what she does but control what she uses (music...) For punishment... it seems a little harsh to punish somebody for dancing because what you're saying to her is I'm punishing you cause I don't like the way you express yourself. and it's hard to get the point accross to childrean that you don't have a problem with them dancing but you have a problem with the music that they dance to. So I would just change the music.

Did you dance to any familiar song returned on your day? i'm particular your mum and dad theory the precise same element in case you probably did. circumstances exchange, and so does the form of dancing. If she's 12 or youthful I recommend speaking approximately what that variety of dancing implies, yet while she's older... there is not plenty you're able to do. in case you punish her, she'll in all danger grind and worse on the subsequent dance in school or at events. once you're a women then perhaps you could consult along with her approximately the way it has a tendency to distastefully reflects women as intercourse products and may bring about a loss of admire from adult men her age... yet once you're her father... that's plenty harder. do exactly not punish her! Please!
