Hi! My hubby and I are looking for some ideas of things to do with his little sister on the weekends. We've done the zoo, Greenlake Park, the aquarium and children's museum.
Looking for something new to try. She's super smart and easily bored. She is not completely verbal yet so sometimes a routine trip to the park can get a bit overwhelming for her. Thanks!
Do you think she is old enough to Ride the Ducks?

Forgot to mention. They don't let her do anything that creates a mess...markers, play-doh, painting etc. She is a mess free, dirt free child (when not at daycare). Or if there is the slightest chance of injury, even the tiniest bump or scratch....it's a no go.
Thank goodness she gets to be a two year old at daycare!

When my girl was that small I would take her for walks and she could collect leaves, small rocks, flowers, grass and we would make collages out of them. I think being creative with kids is an awesome way for them to learn. To encourage her to talk I got pictures out of magazines,(you could use a book), and got her to say/identify the pictuers when we went out, for example- car-bike-tree-bird, just simple words. Take her for a walk in the rain,(with a raincoat of course), she will think its the best thing ever. When we couldn't get outside I would play hairdressers, dress ups, and use real make-up, little girls love this, dance with her. Kids love making play dough- and its easy, cooking, painting. You dont need to pay money to have fun- I have found the things my kids enjoy most are free!

Take her to the waterfront to watch the boats....there are some really cool parks/rec areas outside the city a bit....one I can't remember the name but it is southeast of Seattle (maybe 75 miles or so) and I think it is a state park but there are some geysers there or something like that. Also the ferry rides to the San Juans are pretty cool...and most of those islands are pretty neat, as well. Try Friday Harbor and Anacortes. There is a whale museum in Friday Harbor. I don't have a child nor do I live in Seattle (!) but I've been there quite a bit and I have a nephew about that age.

An easy and fun way to keep a two year old would be through Arts and Crafts activities. Finger painting is always a popular activity with this age group and so is spray painting with stencils. Just make sure that the paint you use is non-toxic. You could also make gak with her. All you need is a lot of cornstarch and some water. Kids love the texture of this and could play with it for a long time. Activities like these don't require a lot but allow them to do a lot of exploration.

hmmm... there is a family fun center in tukwila, near southcenter mall, but that might be a bit too old (and loud) for her. my niece is about the same age, but she lives in california and has never been up to visit me here. when my nephew was her age and came to visit, we did those same things that you have already done.

i do not see why she would not be able to at least try riding the ducks. you could always stop that activity if she does not like it.

My daughter is likewise 2 a million/2. i'd not even ought to go away the homestead to entertain her. it is getting chilly the position we stay and he or she would not flow out anymore to play contained in the outdoor. listed right here are some issues she does on a daily basis: watches television, Playdoh, drawing on her Magna Doodle, coloring, taking section in w/dolls, performs with automobiles, we study books. She "helps" me sparkling and airborne dirt and mud and fold outfits. She likes to play contained in the sink when I do dishes. We play such as her too. basically stupid such issues as chasing her. she will be able to leap on our mattress for an hour and sense free. childrens this age nonetheless entertain very actual.

hello I really think you should allow your kid a few bumps and scratches ,,, otherwise later on

she will be made fun of ,, let her experience wrestling, karate,, is good for her strength and

own self confidence,, another thing is you want her strong not weak,, so when she is alone she can

do something besides yell. oh and doesn't she get bumps n scratches at daycare ,,,

Maybe what I try is to find a group of children to play with somehow, online groups,,

Or another is when your out shopping and your Daughter is play with another child and they get along

DONT BE SHY TALK TO other parent and get Phone Number Exchange for a playdate,,,, Good luck..

Have you tried walking through Pikes place. I'm sure that it would be a very exciting. I'd take her in a stroller though.
