Hint to him,Ha! Tell him what you want, where you are going out to eat and what he is wearing. Sometimes you have to put your foot down are other wise you are going to be disappointed.

HI!,
Tough situation in here, but i have an idea, you folks could go for a walk on a street near some gift shops and tell him how wonderful the whole spirit of valentines day is, and how buying gifts for each other indicates the strength of the love between you, hope you got the point, take him for a walk ,talk mushy about valentines day but not philosophical take care abt that, and i am sure he will get the hint.

first of all valentines day is not a thing for many healthy minded people. you might place importance on this propogated holiday that doesnt need be.
If this is actually an issue for you then take it into consideration if you want to consider dating him and find someone a bit more materialistic.
Be careful with the results you get from manipulation.
A gift requested is not a gift. It is vanity. If he never gives you a gift of any type then this is what you are settlling for. This is the bed you made for yourself. Have fun.

I don't think gifts are all that important, not when it comes to Valentines day anyhow, that is just material really. However, ask him if you should keep it free, joking around (well half lol), and maybe he will take the hint organise something for the two of you to do that night and you can spend it together, which is the main thing really isn't it?

The honest answer....no you shouldn't hint to him that you want love letters, flower, candy etc.
1) What makes getting those types of gifts special isn't that you got what you want. It's that he was thinking of you enough to get you something he thought you'd like.
2) You should be with a person for who they are, not who you'd like them to be. If you knew he wasn't a romantic in the past, and that's what you are hoping for, there is a good chance you may be disappointed.

I suggest dropping hints which include how much the day means to you. Tell him what your favorite candy is? Say to him "What is YOUR favorite kind of candy for valentine day, so I can be sure to get the right kind." Guys are dense sometime, so you sometimes need to be blatant in teaching them what you like.

Okay, what you should do is probably throw a tiny hint to him. But if he doesn't get you anything, don't get discouraged. Give him some clues as to what you would like for him to do with you on that day. That might get the ball rolling in your court.

Well ,you can ask him if he knows what day it falls on and ask him if you too are going to make any plans:lay out under the stars, walk through gardens or go ice skating or a movie.if he chooses not to do Anything for you to show that he cares, maybe you need to rethink this one.

hmmm you could hint around for awhile and then expect something and then be let down if he forgets such a thing or
just be happy doing something to please him. there's more good feelings in the giving if it's given with good intent. the fewer the expectations the happier you'll be. if you set a good example, hopefully, he'll catch on. :) peace
