Pastor Billy says: how come all the people who are answering he is not divine are Catholics who are also getting the thumbs down? seems to me that people giving the thumbs down want their cake and to eat it too!
Catholicism does not teach the Pope is of divine substance as God is. Catholicism does teach that we should all strive to take on a divine nature as it is written in 1Peter1 or is that 2Peter1.
The Pope holds the seat of Peter similar to how the seat of authority was held by Mose. He is called Holy Father because he is a spiritual father as all the other patriarchs were called like Father Abraham. He is called Holy not because he is always holy but once again because of the holy office he holds by the authority of Jesus Christ. No pope is a mason that is a complete lie. Masons belong to a secret society which was established to attack the Church of God not support it.

>>Is there anything divine about Pope or is he just acting like one of divine origin? or is it the people that honour him the some kinda divine position?<<
The Pope is not divine, nor does he act like it, nor do people honor him in such a way. The Pope is the successor of the Apostle Peter, to whom Christ entrusted His flock (John 21:15-17).

Meg has the right answer. He's a man. Not divine, not worshipped. But admired.
As for infallibility, that is based on Jesus' words:
"He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16), and "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matt. 18:18)
He further promised the protection of the Holy Spirit to "guide you into all the truth" (John 16:13).
Was it declared by a Pope in recent centuries? No. Cyprian of Carthage, writing about 256, put the question this way, "Would the heretics dare to come to the very seat of Peter whence apostolic faith is derived and whither no errors can come?" (Letters 59 [55], 14). In the fifth century, Augustine succinctly captured the ancient attitude when he remarked, "Rome has spoken; the case is concluded" (Sermons 131, 10). (source below)

Popes aren'y divine because they are humans like us. Even angels whom we thought are higher than us humans aren't. I remember i read in the last few verses of Revelations, John kneel down to worship an angel but the angel said not to worship him because he, like everyone else are included in His creation. So i think that in that level of divinity, only God is.
Definition:
Divine: to refer to some transcendent or transcendental power, or its attributes or manifestations in the world.

I say no, but that cause I'm not catholic. the bible says not to call any man father because we all have one father in heaven and just because christ gave peter the power that whatever is sealed on earth will be sealed in heaven, doesn't mean the pope has that power too. christ never gave it to him. just peter. plus the line of the priesthood was broken when the apostles died and was reorganized by that pagan constantine!

The answer is No.
Pope for what he was. I recognised him as the one of whom the Bible warned. I dared to call him "Antichrist" for that is who he is.
Christ told his followers to keep the commandments. The Pope have methodically broken them all.
There is no man on this Earth who is the head of the Church. Titles like"Vicar of Christ", "Holy Father", "Universal Bishop","His Grace", "Reverend Father", etc.
Paul warned about following a false Christ. 2 Cor. 11:4
THE POPE IDENTIFIES HIMSELF AS "THE SWEET CHRIST ON EARTH"
Doug,
FYI, your Pope being "Infallible"? "No Human" is Infallible. Only GOD can make such claim.
Pope being infallible but God said, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9
God said, "Showing that God is truth and all men are liars". Rom 3:4

Meg has it right.
But the Pope may choose to speak infallibly under certain very particular circumstances, when teaching as the universal pastor of the Catholic Church.
This is nothing new.
Even the corrupt old testament high priest of Jesus' time had the authority to prophesy.

I'm not Catholic, but I did some research a long time ago to try and figure out where this idea came from. And guess what? It came from one of the popes! It honestly did. I can't remember his name, but he declared himself to be without fault. I forget the actual word that they use, but it means that popes don't sin, lol. Read up on the lineage of popes and you'll find out some very interesting information on them. It's hilarious, in part.
