they've walked the earth for more than 6,000 years ago, and there are excavations to prove them. and please don't say that scientists just planted them, because there's no reason for them to plant those proofs of the dinosaurs' existence. anyways, how will the theory that the earth is only 6,000 years old reconcile with the fact that dinosaurs existed more than 6,000 years ago?

You have three questions under your original question, but I'm just going after the original one. Take a look at the Bible. Start with Genesis 1:24-31. Here is a basic form of logic called a syllogism: T. Rex is a land animal. Land animals were made on day 6. Therefore, T. Rex was made on day 6. So, according to the Bible, dinosaurs lived beside man. Dinosaurs were made on day six of the creation week the same as man; they were beasts of the earth. And then read Job 40:15-24. Job was questioning God because of his suffering, and so God comes and challenges Job with His creation. Many people say, “Job 40 can’t be speaking of a dinosaur.” They say that, not because the description of Behemoth doesn’t fit, but because of their preconceived conception that man and dinosaurs didn’t live together. The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the hippopotamus or the elephant.” Something to keep in mind—the footnotes are not a part of the original text. Well, the tail of an elephant or hippo is like a twig, not a cedar (most dogs have longer tails). Throughout the Scriptures, cedars were known for their great size and length. Nothing on earth today fits this description, but a sauropod type of dinosaur does. The largest we have found was over 120 feet long. That sounds to me like the “chief”—not a hippo. And then in Job 41, God describes the Leviathan (Isaiah 27:1 calls it the dragon in the sea.) The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the crocodile.” But the description again doesn’t fit any animal alive today. Besides, man has never had a problem catching crocodiles, even primitive tribes, but God says in Job 41 that Leviathan couldn’t be caught. Some think this was just a mythical creature since it speaks of it breathing fire. And yes, Job is a poetic book and those could just be poetic descriptions. But not necessarily. Impossible you say? What about the electric eel that can produce enough electricity to stun a horse? If the electric eel was extinct and all we could find were its fossils, would we be able to know that it could generate electricity? Nope. What about the firefly and anglerfish that can produce light? What about the bombardier beetle that can fire a boiling mixture of chemicals at its enemies that is 212 degrees Fahrenheit? Why couldn’t God have created certain water-living reptiles that were capable of expelling hot gaseous fumes that could ignite? Most animals produce methane anyway, which is a flammable gas. Stories of fire-breathing dragons have circulated for thousands of years. Also, keep in mind that Behemoth and Leviathan were included along with real creatures that Job knew about. Read Job sometime. In Isaiah 30:6, Isaiah speaks of flying serpents [reptiles]. I also find it interesting that Herodotus, the Greek Historian who lived around 450 BC wrote about flying serpents in Arabia. He talked about finding their bones and described their snake-like bodies and bat-like wings. And the Jewish historian from the first century, Josephus, wrote about Moses and the Israelites having a difficult time passing through a particular region because of the presence of flying serpents. I think they were speaking of one of the pterosaurs like the pterodactyl, pteranodon, or rhamphorhynchus.

First the proof the dinosaur's lived millions of years ago is? Fossils are dated using an index fossil based off when they think it evolved, they date the rock off the date they gave the fossil. Talk about making evidence fit your theory. If Dinosaurs are millions of years old please explain The T-Rex bones found in Hells Creek with hemoglobin still inside the bone, or the skin on a second one found on its sacral vertebra. Scanned with a electron microscope the bone had collagen filaments inside the bone, and the bone was not fossilized. If these creatures died out millions of years ago this is not possible. I wondered this same thing and I was an old earth believer for years. But secular scientific evidence is more and more showing a younger earth. There is also a lot of people in the educational system that don't want to hear it. Remember when people thought the earth was flat there was both Religionist's and scientists of the day that believed it, as there were both that believed it was round. I know that written accounts of history can tell how long man has been on the earth. I do not put my trust in gadgets made in this century that say they can tell how old something is to people who are always changing the facts with new and improved evidence. No one was around more than 6,000 years ago to say any different. People who dig up dinosaurs assume allot and every one falls for it. They dig up half the bones of something, fill in all the missing pieces with plaster and then draw a picture of what they THINK it would have looked like and GUESSED at the behavior of that creature and then put it all in a book and call it a FACT and everyone just assumes they are right. No one has EVER seen a living breathing dinosaur, let alone seen one with organs and skin and interacting with other dinosaurs. It is all an assumption from a found skeleton.
At least the bible is an written account of those who were there and saw these things for themselves. And the Bible is still around and still changing peoples lives with the real truth.
If there were dinosaurs on the earth, then they were created by God for His own purpose. Maybe you can thank Him for them the next time you put gas in your car or heat your home. Everything was created by Him and for Him.

Ok you will get a lot of crazy answers on this one but here is what I have been taught.

They walked the earth. They existed. The fossils are real. They are even in the bible. The dating currently in use by scientists is inaccurate. There are cave drawings of dinosaurs with people, and indians only drew what they saw. There are fossils being found with muscle and sinew still detectable (here is an article that talks about it http://answersingenesis.org/docs2005/0325Dino_tissue.asp), not possible if they are millions of years old.

Was all physical creation accomplished in just six days sometime within the past 6,000 to 10,000 years?

The facts disagree with such a conclusion: (1) Light from the Andromeda nebula can be seen on a clear night in the northern hemisphere. It takes about 2,000,000 years for that light to reach the earth, indicating that the universe must be at least millions of years old. (2) End products of radioactive decay in rocks in the earth testify that some rock formations have been undisturbed for billions of years.

Genesis 1:3-31 is not discussing the original creation of matter or of the heavenly bodies. It describes the preparation of the already existing earth for human habitation. This included creation of the basic kinds of vegetation, marine life, flying creatures, land animals, and the first human pair. All of this is said to have been done within a period of six “days.” However, the Hebrew word translated “day” has a variety of meanings, including ‘a long time; the time covering an extraordinary event.’ (Old Testament Word Studies, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 1978, W. Wilson, p. 109) The term used allows for the thought that each “day” could have been thousands of years in length.



When did God create dinosaurs, and when did they become extinct?

The Bible does not provide specific answers to this question. According to the Genesis account, animals were created during the fifth and sixth creative periods or ‘days.’ If the Hebrew expression translated “great sea monsters” includes dinosaurs, which often inhabited swampy, watery areas, this would mean that dinosaurs were created on the fifth “day.” (Gen. 1:21) We do not know whether they continued to exist until man was created (toward the close of the sixth “day”). At the very latest it seems likely that they must have disappeared off the earth at the time of the flood of Noah’s day. Dinosaurs were reptiles, and some kinds of dinosaurs bear strong resemblance structurally and otherwise to lizard . Not all types of dinosaurs were of such gigantic size. Hence, even if they had survived till the Flood, this would not have required taking pairs of the mammoth varieties into the ark. Other smaller members of the particular family or “kind” to which these belonged would have sufficed to fulfill the divine command.

While the radioactive dating method is innovative, it is still based on speculation and assumption. In contrast, the Bible account in the first chapter of Genesis simply states the general order of creation. It allows for possibly thousands of millions of years for the formation of the earth and many millenniums in six creative eras, or “days,” to prepare the earth for human habitation.

Some dinosaurs may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time. Genesis 1:20-24.

When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.

When Did They Live?

Dinosaurs played a dominant role in life on earth during their age. But then they came to an end. The rock layers containing human fossils consistently occur above those layers containing dinosaur fossils. Because of this, scientists generally conclude that humans came on the earthly scene later.

In this regard the book Palaeontology, by James Scott, states: “Even the earliest species of Homo sapiens (man) lived long after the disappearance of the dinosaurs, After tilting (through earth movement) has been allowed for, rocks containing fossil men consistently occur above those preserving the bones of the great dinosaur reptiles and it follows that the latter belong to an earlier age than the human remains.”

Well, humans walking around on two feet with a spoken language have been around for about 10,000 years, 6,000 years ago have been devoted to the first primitive cave writings and the first of recognized written language in general. 2,000 years ago was the first recorded entries of unexplainable events due to the lack of intelligent scientists to provide other-than-acceptable debates about that which was considered true from unexplainable events and that which was explained in detailed, understandable recorded notes.
