Ew. What if we're just God's mid-eternity crisis? Something he whipped up on a bad day because he didn't have a hot secretary or a Ferrari handy?

Good question. Religion does not answer the question why I am here unless the so called "history" of religion is looked at as a myth, the myth of everyone. God needs no reason, the ego needs a reason, a purpose, hope of some future heaven. Sin is just suffering & suffering is caused by a case of mistaken identity. "You will "know" the "truth" & the "truth" will set you free.

If it hadn't answered the first question satisfactorily it might. Or maybe in the process of answering the first question it created more questions. The question is basically one that only faith can answer. Faith isn't blind, it has eyes to see that which reason on its own cannot. Our spirit is as real a part of us as every other part is. My pastor says that the spirit is to the soul what the blood is to the body.

Hmmmm... well, each religion has a different answer as to why we are here, so not entirely sure that question has been answered. I think the jury is still out on both questions!

Our brains could not comprehend the answer to that, but, I agree with the above answer, "Ask God " yourself and get the answers. God has no beginning and no end, like we do, so the answer would only throw an eternal wrench into our temporary gears.

God ain't here. And religion doesn't anwer the question regarding why we're here. It tries... poorly... but it fails. Why we're here is a mystery. And perhaps it should remain that way. The best answer I ever heard pertaining to "Is there a god, is there life after death, where do we go when we die", etc... the best answer I've ever heard is.... "I don't know".

Religion tries to supply the answer to, why we are here, but has not yet given a satisfactory answer. I don't know why the h ll we are here either. The earth isn't a very pleasant place.

That's like looking into eternity
or wondering what the last number is
or where does the universe end?
anything to do w/infinity is beyond the comprehension
of any human mind

I think god wants us to find the answer ourselves... religions don't give us answers... they only guide us to seek the truth...
