I recently got a speeding ticket. It cost me 250 bucks and a few demerits. I would like to know any*** way to get the officer to give out a warning instead of a ticket.

***I know that some of you will want to say that NOT speeding is a way to not get a ticket. I already know that so dont waste your time telling me. Anyways driving is boring as hell if you allways follow the speed limit.

When they flash the light to pull you over, simply put a hand over your chest, press your foot on the pedal and throw yourself over the stearing wheel like having a heart attack. Hit any convenient light pole for stopping.

They will call the ambulance.

But remember, no drinking before driving, otherwise things can become pretty nasty.

These are straight from a cop and are proven methods:

1. Have a clean car inside and out. If you have a dirty car, then the cop will think lower of you and be more willing to write you a ticket.
2. More 'sporty' and colorful cars are more likely to land you a ticket. The more 'businessy' the car looks, the better.
3. Take off sunglasses and/or hats if you are wearing them. It appears more respectful.
4. Have your license and proof of insurance ready before the cop gets to your window. Make a cop wait and they will be more irritated with you.
5. Be nice and friendly, and use simple respect, such as saying yes Sir or yes Mam.
6. Maybe most importantly, NEVER ADMIT GUILT. What I mean by this is be honest when they ask you if you know how fast you were going, they already know what your speed was. BUT, when they ask you if you know what the speed limit is, say that you do not know, and say something like, "I just got on this road and I haven't seen a speed limit sign yet." As soon as you admit your guilt then it gives them the green light to give you the ticket.
7. If you want to sink low enough then cry. Doesn't matter if you're a girl or guy. It works best if you have no priors. However there are a few cops that love giving out tickets to criers, so it could backfire. Just a warning.
8. Not that you can help this one, but guys are twice as likely as girls to recieve a ticket when pulled over.

Definitely be nice and personable.

Once I got off because cars were racing about me. I said I was moving out of the way. You could say you had just put in a 10 hour shift and were antsy to get home or something they might relate to.

I am not sure if this helps if you are a young driver and with the demerit system, but generally speaking one could show up in court instead of pay the ticket. Many, many times the officer can't make it and you win and don't have to pay. When this happens just say thank you and leave, don't chat with the judge or try to give him or her your pre-thought out excuse or reasoning, they don't like that.

As you get older you might try enjoying following the road rules in that they are orderly and relaxing. Something I like to do that's fun is try and peddle the gas perfectly. Imagine there is an ocean and you are in charge of making sure it doesn't get any waves so you gently let out, gently let in the gas. Also doing perfect turns is pretty exciting.

Driving is boring! Think back, remember, remember the day... you didn't even have a license.

Yes, I will give you my 2 cents and here they are.
1. I smile at the officer and greeting him or her. I will take off my sun glasses, turn off my radio and act polite toward him or her.
2. I will look for my ID and insurance policy.I make sure they are there when I need them.
3. I will say sorry I broke the law and feel guilty.
4. I make sure I am not jumping out of the car and freak him or her out.
5. I will behave and speak to him or her in a good manner.
6. I will use no sir or no mam when he or she speaks to me.
7. I will not react any negative toward he or she while they are lecturing me about my speed driving.
Finally the officer tells me that I am very nice and polite so he does not want to give me a ticket just a warning. Well these are my real experience with the police and I only had less than 5 tickets in my past 32 years of driving.

Speed, but don't go more than 9mph over the posted limit. Radar guns are not 100% accurate and most of the time they can't pull you over if you're not going more than 10mph over the limit.

It's funny...I've been married 10 years and my husband hasn't gotten a speeding ticket in all that time. He had a bunch before we met. His car insurance just went down. Sometimes I think of how much we would have saved over the years if it weren't for all the darn tickets! We used to pay more than $200 a month for his insurance...for me alone it would have been $65.

One thing you can do when you get a ticket is to go to court and try to bargain. Tell them you've only got a certain amount of money (but make sure it's more than half) but you want to pay the ticket, and ask if you can make payment arrangements. A lot of the time they'll give you deferred adjudication...meaning that you pay a reduced fine and then you have to be a good boy and not get any more tickets for six months.

I won't tell you not to speed. I wouldn't do that. But I will tell you that they do ticket drivers who do.

Now as to how to get a warning ticket. Lose any attitude you may have before he comes to ask for your license. If he picks up on a smarta** attitude, you can just about guarantee a ticket in your hand.

Also, it will depend on just how fast over the limit you were going too. The more over the limit, the better odds you get a speeding ticket. Warning is most likely out of the question at this point.

Just be honest. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to the police. But in all truth you never know how it's going to turn out. He/She could be having a lousy day and might issue you the ticket because of that...

I've gotten out of 3 or 4 tickets by just being honest. Don't try to pull anything with the officer, he's been doing his job alot longer then you've been thinking about excuses. He/She has heard them all and won't be willing to give any slack once they hear another one.

well start off by being nice to the officer because you never know if they are having a bad day, and if they are you could just make it worse so be kind, you never know that could get you off itself and If you acknowledge the fact the you were speeding and as honestly as you can say that you are sorry and that you wont do it again you can sometimes get them to just give you a warning because if you arent rude about it and you arent going 20 or 30 miles over the speed limit you are probably good

Not speeding doesn't always work. I was passed by a car that looked just like mine, and I got behind him, the next thing I know the officer is writing me a ticket for 10mph faster than I was going.

Own up to being a screw up goes a long way towards sympathy.

A guy passed me the other day and I was already patrolling about 15 mph over the speed limit. When I pulled him over I asked him "what were you thinking?"

His response: " I have my head up my ***!" Instant warning.

Lies, attitude (why are you stopping me when everyone else is speeding too?), women who cry, and denial are automatic tickets in my book.
