TIME IN BIBLE IS GENEALOGY OF JESUS
Matt.1:1-17;
Abraham son #20, David son #34, Jechoachin son #48 at Babylon Empire #3 ends kings,

Joe Cool,

The king line Abraham to David and then after Solomon [ to 18th ], involves a queen.
But the time allowed for each person in that position from Solomon to Babylon is there. Ruth 4:18-22; 1Chr.3:1-17; This is another source that gives the same time.

1Chr.6:1-15; Exo.6:16-23,26;
The priestline from Abraham to Babylon and even Ezra is the same time.
So no matter how it is figured it is the same.
I just wish people would get interested in it and do all possible to stop people from making it as if God and his book is at fault, God and his book is not at fault, it is true and correct.

The Bishop of Usher used all the ages of the Bible to arrive at 4004 BC as the year of creation. We know a lot more now, but back then it was hot stuff.
Matthew likes to group things in 3. Have you noticed that the first 2 groups have 14 names each - He omitted a few kings to make them fit. The last group only has 13 names...or does it? Is Mary the 14th to tie Jesus into the Davidic line.
David, by the way, in Hebrew adds up to the # 14.

Actually, there are two separate genealogies given for Jesus, and they do not agree with each other. Other time points can be inferred from the tales, but they generally do not correspond to known historical data. Nor do the Genesis tales conform to scientific evidence about the earth's age and history. The only possible inference is that the whole thing is fiction.

I am not sure what you are asking here. Time in the bible is determined by a lot of things. Age of fathers when they had sons, age they died as given in the bible and secularly confirmed events like the Greek control of Isreal and the distruction and rebuilding of the Temple. Here is an article about it http://www-astronomy.mps.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast161/Unit5/ussher.html

Much of today's science leads one to believe that the earth is not near as old as those who believe in evolution say. Science is supposed to be finding evidence and letting it lead you to a conclusion. Evolutionists are getting to where they will ignore anything that shows that the earth is much younger than what they want to believe. My suggestion is to research it for yourself
