leave one msg & then wait until the next day. Then call, if they do not pick up then leave a msg & then wait 2 days. After that if they don't pick up the phone, drop it, b/c you have given them 3 chances to call you, if they are not available they will get all 3 of your msg's & then call you back. If not, they are not trying to call you.

You don't give much information, but just offhand, I find that the reason most people don't answer is they get sidetracked and just forget.
Now if this is a girl you are talking about, well, who knows. She may be sending you a silent message? Or her dialing fingers are broken? She has no interest in talking to you?
How long should you wait? How important is it? If it is really important, try again at a time you think she can take a call.

After you've left a message the first time, wait 24 hours if the matter is pressing. This gives the person a chance to receive the message and make time in their schedule to call you back. After 24 hours, then call since you gave them adequate time. If the matter you're calling about is not pressing, then wait at least 48 hours before calling again.

Depends on how urgent it is and did you leave in a message that it was urgent. If it is not urgent I would call a few hours later or the next day just to make sure that they got the call or message. I have recently sent two txt messages to other people by accident when I meant to send them to hubby. If those other people did not call me I would have not known. Sometimes on cell phones it takes a while for the call to go thru. Also depends on the usually characteristics of the person you called

Well this depends on who it is your trying to call, if its someone your interested in which i think is what your meaning i would wait three to four days and if they dont answer then they dont like you, simple as that.

if it's something that is really important to you keep calling as often as you want until they answer. If it's something that should be important to them ring twice and then forget about it, they will soon call you.

Leave them a message. If they don't call back, forget about them. They can go hang.

If they want to return your call, they will.
If they don't after one message, I'd shine them on.
Don't feel that you have to beg someone to talk with you.
Spend your precious time on someone who returns your call promptly!
