If it is as bad as it sounds, you might have to report them to Children's Services. If you can't make yourself do that, then, perhaps talk to the mother (your daughter?), and suggest you take the children in until a more suitable home is found. Surely she would see this as a better solution to the one she now finds herself in. The kids come first.

Sorry but you need to get the grand kids out of there NOW. Your local Child Protective unit sees that and the kids are gone and mother is setting in jail. Look I don't mean to be mean ... I am a grandfather and I understand what you are going through. If The kids re school are all it will take is a teacher making a report to the local CPS to tear the family apart. Been there done that and believe me they don't want to go through it. If you can help do so like in watching the children while she find/goes to work or taking mother and kids in for a short time so she can find work and proper housing. Not a big fan of going on welfare but it can be used as a temporary stepping stone till something betters shows up. See what the local women's shelter can do for her.
The boyfriend can live in a pigsty but get aughter and kids out of there

This is a problem, I don't know what to tell ya because you sound like you're against reporting the conditions to any child protective agencies. I wouldn't do that either. You could help them fix the trailer or buy a new one but I don't think that would be a long term fix cuz there will always be animals around to ruin a new one. I don't know

Linda...I believe there are special housing programs for families/persons like that who can't afford alot. Certain apts and housing offer these programs. Is your relationship with both of them on good terms? If so, maybe you can work with them to either clean up the trailer or find something much better. I suppose you could call authorities on this issues but I'm not sure if or how that would help the situation. Who knows maybe they can help! Hope something works out! =)

why not try to help them out ,by taking in your grand kids and there mom or helping her to get her own place, alot of government agencies can help in that department . where is the children's real father ?is any money coming in from him?i think if shes a good mother that there are other ways of tring to resolve this first .maybe talk to her in private first .calling cps may cause your relationship with there mother to fall apart if you haven't at least given her a heads up on your feeling first.if she doesn't act at all then by all means step in .

some one has their wires crossed. And it might be you. unless these people are disabled, can't walk, can't hardly breath, then they are probably just lazy slobs. Your daughter is not a good mother letting her children play around dead animal parts. And no "good" person in my estimation puts up with what you have described. The boyfriend is ***********with your daughter and the kids. You do not say if kids are his or not. Call the county for lords sake.

Are the children happy? Is the mother happy? Is the boyfriend happy? If they are, then leave well enough alone. If the conditions trouble you than offer to pay for repairs and help clean the premises.
You can only control your own life.

Call them some help from your local Protection Agency. The kids deserve better and sounds like Mom needs some help getting on her feet.

As the grandmother, you have a legal right to step in. If you believe the living conditions to be unsafe for your grandchildren, you can always take them in, or report it to the authorities.
