" Why not ask" is bang on , does the writer of the Koran who wrote Sura 9:73 sound like a peace maker? You want peace ? take at look at what the true prophets of God wrote in God's Holy Word the Bible. The Bible says God's Word can not be added to nor taken away from, it is complete in it self. The Koran came along 6oo years later using some biblical characters to try and give it some authenticity.

Many Muslim are peaceful because they follow their Prophet.
Muhammad and his followers were subjected to horrendous ordeals and wars of extinction during the life of Muhammad after the first revelation over a period of 23 years. It will astonish you that the total number of deaths during all the engagements were only a few hundreds. That is because they fought for defense and no revenge. Muslim forgave even those in Makkah who made their lives miserable and pursued them and attacked them everywhere they went.
However, Muslims have the right to fight those who destroy their homes, evict them from their homes and cities, kill their kin folks. Every human has the right to fight in such case.
I hope you learn something unless your intention was not to learn but to malign.

Many Muslims are peaceful, and many are not. Who are nor peaceful not following Holy Prophet.
Holy Prophet taught peace as Taught by Moses, and Jesus.
Holy Prophet taught to fight infidels as Prophet fought Pharaoh of his time.
And By the grace of Almighty Prophets won against liars.

why we are judging people with their religions , unpeaceful you can find it in all humans with all religions , yes islam peaceful and christianity peaceful and all religions , religion come to let us understand that we are a soul first and then a body , to teach us love and peace with ourselves and with all people , if someone muslim or..... is doing something against this love or peace . so he is not a muslim , he is doing his own bad explanation about islam , no religion is bad ... all of them are ways to reach God , and u r free to choose any of them , but understand them well , not with your physical body but with with your spiritual awareness , maybe what muslims do now from terrorism and closed mind by wearing hejab , etc... but all of that doesn't mean anything to reach God , if they want to reach God , they need first to remove this closed minds and they are only the choosen people and all others who don't believe on them are sinners ... that's a ridiculous.
