I did the south beach diet and w/in 2wks lost 15lbs just from following the diet w/out exercise. I then included exercise into the later phases. But if you can tolerate eating a lot(which you have to do on it) and lots of protein and eggs then you will do great!! I enjoyed it better than Atkins b/c eventually you gradually bring back some carbs and sugars. It's also good b/c if you happen to mess up you can always start back at the first phase. I didn't buy the big book but went to Walmart and bought the smaller book for like $5 which breaks down the good and bad foods through all 3 phases. Think of it as a change of life instead of a diet! And remember, there's really no quick way! But I've offered this to a lot of ppl on here and they loved it! Good Luck w/whatever you decide and I hope you hit your goal!!

Without knowing your height and age, your weight is meaningless. Check out a bmi website: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx.
If dieting is appropriate for you, you want to cut about 500 calories a day through diet and exercise. That might mean taking the slices of bread off your sandwich and substituting a wrap or lettuce wrap (i.e, wrapping the whole thing in lettuce), and walking for about 30 minutes to an hour a day.
Don't rush to take off weight -- if you do it slowly and make permanent changes, you'll get to a healthy weight and keep it.

Drink organic apple cider vinegar everyday. The pounds will just fall off. I'd heard about it for years and read about it in a lot of alternative health books but never did it. Finally I got tired of being overweight. Plus, I saw all the people that attested to it. You won't believe all the health benefits. And only drink water. No diet drinks or juices (too high in sugar). And don't eat anything white..pasta, bread, potatoes, rice etc
Check out www.earthclinic.com and click on apple cider vinegar or click on weight gain. Stuff is unpleasant but you'll get used to it.

Count calories and plan what you're going to eat in advance, you won't binge. And be sure to excercise as much as possible but at least three times a week.
