You should try going to Vegas then. I went there with my boyfriend and we spent the weekend and it wasn't that expensive and we had a great time! There are shows to see, great night life, plenty of clubs, and not to mention immaculate dream rooms! My advice if you go is the Luxor or Mandalay Bay. They also offer free things if you get a room online. You can relax and go to the day spa and spend time just having fun. It's completely away from the beach but there is constantly something going on at all times of the day and night. Congratulations by the way! I hope you too are very happy and end up having a great time together!

If you guys like to drive, you could just take a road trip through the South. Arkansas is really beautiful. This would keep the budget low and give you guys some great memories.
If you buy your tickets in advance, you can get affordable prices for trips to Alaska. It is absolutely gorgeous (I grew up there) and is a perfect place to honeymoon. In the summers you get perfect weather, great hiking, fishing, you can take flight seeing tours, etc. In the fall, you can do pretty much the same things as the summer, but it is a bit cooler. In the winter you can see all the gorgeous mountains, go skiing/snowboarding, see the Northern Lights, etc. I would not recommend going to AK in the spring though because of Break Up Season (trust me, you don't want to go).
Also, I know you said you wanted to stay in the US, but we went to Canada on our honeymoon and saved quite a bit. We stayed in Whistler and had a blast walking around the resorts and eating delicious food. :)

How about New England in the fall? The leaves are beautiful, and you don't have to go near the ocean. Other thoughts are Lake Tahoe, The Grand Hotel in Michigan, Moab Utah, and the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Have a great honeymoon :)

Personally, it would depend on the time of year. If its in winter, my best recommendation is either a ski resort (hey, even if you don't ski, the snow is really beautiful) or an in-land resort in a warmer climate. (Think Arizona, Nevada, some parts of Florida, etc.) If its in summer, I'd recommend New England (it's not too beachy, and is relatively affordable) or Niagra Falls. When you're not focused on getting far away, it's easy to have a great honeymoon under $2500.

How about some of the seven wonders? Also depends on the season you are planning on going. If it was me, I would like to visit some historical places only because I would never do it again and it would be with someone special. Enjoy nightlife in Vegas, visit major amusement parks. We have so many great places to go in the States. Living in Arizona, I love Sedona, it's the most romantic place ever I think. So you can look for some places that are hidden and romantic.

NEW ENGLAND!!! If you're getting married in the fall, go to the New England area for your honeymoon. The foliage is beautiful, you can go to Vermont, Connecticut, Massachussetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire...take your pick. Someplace up in the Poconos would be beautiful at that time of year!

My fiancée and I are getting married here in 11 days. We are going to Orlando for a few days. One of the main things that influenced our decision to go there was after the wedding we will be headed back to the Chicago land area, so we wanted some place warm. There is plenty to do in Orlando and keep it within $2500.
Congratulation and good luck.

I would go to Deadwood, South Dakota. I was there once really cool the whole town is set in the 1800's there is gambling but, lots of history and of course black hills gold. This is the area that Kevin Costner shot dances with wolves and last I heard he still owns one of the casinos. Wild Bill Hicock was also killed in one of the saloons. Also its close to Mt. Rushmore. I went there when I was young and would love to go back sometime.

Well, we went to Vegas for Christmas and had a blast. The review's in my profile if you'd like to read it.
And there's some really romatic stuff to do there too, like a tour of the Grand Canyon. You might want to look into it!
