First off, what is your height / weight. 20 pounds could mean the difference of you having baby fat and being unhealthy. I would go for a look rather than a weight.
Now to answer. One of the most important things to do is to lay off the sodas / fruit juices / anything with sugar. Even diet sodas arent that great. Drinks are one of the biggest diet killers because noone thinks to count the calories that the drinks have. People think that fruit juice is healthy, but it really isn't. The best things to drink are unsweetened tea and water. Excercise is important. If you drive everywhere, try to walk instead. It may take longer, but just that change can help. Also, try going to a local park and jog. Diet is also very important. NO junk or fast food. This includes grilled chicken from your local fat food restaraunt. The reason I say this is because when people go to eat, they usually get fries as well. The fries are loaded in nastiness, and can pack on some calories. Good luck, but don't overdo it =) and PLEASE don't fall for the fad diets, like adkins or south beach. They are dangerous and can cause more harm than good, and after you get off the diet you will just gain the weight back.
A good indicator of weight loss is about 10 pounds a month btw.

I did the south beach diet and w/in 2wks lost 15lbs just from following the diet w/out exercise. I then included exercise into the later phases. But if you can tolerate eating a lot(which you have to do on it) and lots of protein and eggs then you will do great!! I enjoyed it better than Atkins b/c eventually you gradually bring back some carbs and sugars. It's also good b/c if you happen to mess up you can always start back at the first phase. I didn't buy the big book but went to Walmart and bought the smaller book for like $5 which breaks down the good and bad foods through all 3 phases. Think of it as a change of life instead of a diet! And remember, there's really no quick way! But I've offered this to a lot of ppl on here and they loved it! Good Luck w/whatever you decide and I hope you hit your goal!!

Typically loosing 2lbs a week will be achievable by simply cutting out or way back on sugars, and junk food. Your body does not need them for maintaining health anyway. Crash diets tend to let you gain the weight you lost and more back, so stay active and cut back on the calories (smaller portions). Taking the mindset that you are "loosing" weight instead of controlling it can subconsciously make the equation that it is some thing you are due and can make it harder to reach your goal.

Yeah, be careful not to eat too much fat and sugar, and just a little white carbs (potatoes, pasta, bread).
And yeah, make sure to get half an hour of exercise every day, to get sweaty three times a week.
But here's my best secret: don't eat anything after the middle of the afternoon. Make sure you have a great breakfast and lunch and good snacks, but don't eat anything after 3 p.m.

The cleansing diet is definitely the way to go, my friends have had great success with it. It consists of delicious high protein shakes that you replace meals with and cleansers that clean those fatty toxins out of your body. The shakes leave you feeling full and the cleanser must me some sort of miracle formula ;) Email me at jdplamenac@yahoo.com and I can tell you how to get it at a very discounted price (I save 100 bucks a month), retail is very expensive. Anyone else feel free to email me.

If you are turning 21, you don't have baby fat anymore, you lose that early in your teen years. Nice try though.
