but you can evangelize if the person you're talking to asks you to, that would mean he/she is interested.

I have not seen it anywhere written in the bible, that you had to go bother people at home. I am sick to death of the door knocker religions. You can evangalize without going door to door like you're selling vacuums. I personally think it is a form of marketing. "Do you know where you are going to spend eternity?" is equivalent to " Are you satisfied with your long distance service?". I hate to see them coming. Don't get me wrong, I love the Lord, I believe in GOD. I have only experienced Jehovah Witness' and Mormons. Each don't have concrete answers to the questions I have for them and I have grown tired of watching them fumble through books and pamphlets searching for answers that are incomplete. There are so many way to spread the word of YOUR religion, besides invading the personal sanctuary of someone's home. My home is a place of refuge from all that goes on in the world. A place where I exercise MY beliefs and sift through all the information thrown at me while OUT on my journeys. If this space is invaded, I take it personal. Then whatever it is that may have penetrated my thoughts, are blocked by an instant attitude. So I really don't see the purpose of it.

No, why bother someone at home and uninvited? I have never liked this. I prefer open-air preaching or speaking to individuals out in public. They have the option to continue walking by or stopping. The choice is theirs. If anyone asks I will tell them His truth. It makes no difference where. Going door-to-door is an invasion of personal privacy.

It is necessary to spread the word of God like a cold to everyone you come in contact with. Not only may you gain another member of the flock of sheeple but you may even get more money for the blessed church who needs an even higher steeple. I am waiting for the evangelists to come around and tell me that they are building a ladder to heaven and need funding for it!

I think is it necessary as the gospel has to reach all men. They have the burden to spread the word and they should do so as the spirit leads and it is only up to the people to allow them in and listen or shut them out. The choice is really in your hands.

I think that when a person feels like he has truly found something good, he wants to share it with others.
(New International Version)
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction

Fundies and other such cultists who proseltize their filth door to door are like drunks at a bar propositioning you for sex. After you turn them down, they will egotistically say, "Hey, baby, you haven't been with ME, so you don't know what you're missing!"

Being a woman, would you find such drunks a turn on? I highly doubt you're the sort who would. Likewise, I have no patience for those drunk on religion who think they have the right to rape me with it.

not necessary, but everyone has their own method of reaching out to the lost souls. The desire is to rescue people from the penalty of their sins, which is hell. I don't go door to door, I have other ways of reaching out.

No, it's more important to live your life as a lamp shining the Light of Jesus unless Jesus has called you to go out and be a missionary. If someone asks me why I believe in Jesus, then I tell them. Most people watch how we live more than they listen to what we preach.

They believe they are doing the right thing by helping others to find God and save them from Hell. I believe they are good people, though maybe a little mislead.

I usually answer the door with my shotgun in hand. They don't come back for some reason.
