not sure where you reside, but, there are some hardware stores or camping stores that sell these items you are after. Alternatively, there are some fittings you can get to put on your actual drink bottle that afre like a pop top sipper, that have a charcoal filter inside it. Any water from your water bottle passes thru the charcoal flter and consequently, the water you drink it fresh and clean and nice :)

Something to look at if this is an ongoing need (like camping or emergency preparedness) would be a filter system. Available for less than $100 from outdoors stores (REI comes to mind), they will take just about anything organic out of water. Make any old puddle drinkable. By the way, do you kow how long to boil water before it is pure enough to drink (not for surgery, just for drinking)? Surprise, below about 12,000 feet, if you get it to a rolling boil you are done. Not 5 or 10 or 20 minutes.

Walmart or Kmart or any camping/outdoor mart.
Actually, there are not purifying pills. The pills just kill the bacteria in water so that you won't get sick. If pills are not available, then get a small bottle of iodine. A few drop of that will kill any bacteria in the water for safe drinking.

for traveling? just get a bottle of pure, unadulterated lemon essential oil or peppermint essential oil and put a drop in bottled water to freshen it up... don't drink anything but bottled water. Eat fruit that has to be peeled (like oranges). don't eat salads from street vendors. The peppermint essential oil will help (a drop in a glass) if you pick up any bugs.
