Atlas is a Titan who sustains the Earth on his shoulders.
He had seven daughters which are represented as the seven visible stars in the Plejades cumulus near the Constellation of Taurus, the bull that is protecting them from Orion, the Hunter (The bigger constellation) .
This word is also used as a kind of books containing maps.
