i think unless there is some overwhelming reason as to why you can't take your dog outside to potty, but you'd rather clean a big cat box, there's no sense to it. dogs are meant to be outdoors. and should be exercised by walking at least twice a day to be healthy. and from what i understand it's more difficult to train a dog to go in a box then train them to go outdoors.

I have seen those litter boxes used quite effectively while i worked in kenneling. But i'm not sure if there was specific training involved prior to them coming in or not.

I would trust that they would work and encourage you to try them.

usually there is instructions on the bag somewhere as how to best utilize the litter/litter box for small dogs.

however, don't forget that walking a dog is very key to their physical, emotional and mental health, and so that shouldn't be a replacement/substitute for daily walking.

best of luck to you and your companion.

I think that those boxes can be usefull for quiet and little dogs, used for a short period of time.

If you absolutely need to use a box to your dog for a period longer than two hours, or if you have an unquiet dog, give him a little bit of valeriana just before.

Valeriana it's natural medicine, to calm down.

That's a new one on me! But I once had a dog who would occasionally use the cat box!! (No, I'm not kidding.)

It doesn't work for stubborn dogs. If they don't want to go into it, they won't. They aren't like cats. But it is good for traveling and if you aren't home during the day very much!
