No, but since guys like watching the girls jump up and down, then they tend to take on the role of observer rather than that of participant. Just like cheerleading.

Only in America. This is because of Title IX, which requires schools to offer the same number of athletic opportunities to boys and girls. Since football is a boys sport that has a larger number of participants than any other sport, schools have added extra sports, like volleyball, just for girls. In other parts of the world, both men and women play it in equal numbers.

NO. I've played volleyball since grade four, through college at the collegiate level and know in a mens league. There are professional leagues all around the world (indoor and beach) for men. It is in the olympics. Just cause something isn't popular in some states or in the United States doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It depends.

At the college level, there are fewer than 100 NCAA-sanctioned mens volleyball teams, whereas there are over 300 teams for women. I don't know how what the balance for high school teams is like overall, but my high school only had a girls team and most of the schools we played didn't have boy's teams, either.

Most colleges have intramural volleyball leagues for both men and women, though, and I have many guy friends who like to play. There are also often community leagues as well that host mens, womens, and coed teams.

well kinda. i mean they dont offer it for boys in high school. but i see alot of guys playing at the sportsplex and there are professional beach volleyball players. if youre talking about traditional indoor 6 player volleyball like formal teams in a league and everything then yes i would have to say it is a girls sport. but like i said early guys still play it

In the US, the majority of players are women. However, after the age of 22, most of the players are men. Most of the women volleyball players play in their mid teens on high school and/or club teams.

Yes, but there are men's leagues you can join, and the Olympics has a men's volleyball division too.
