Yes, Christians like to complain about others mocking them. But do they not mock others? Do they not mock the faith of the Buddhist by telling him that his religion is a cult and that God ignores his prayers? Do they not mock the Jew by telling him that he will suffer in hell for all eternity unless he renounces Judaism and becomes a Christian? Do they not mock non-Christians all over the world by saying that their religion is a cult, that God ignores their prayers, and that they're going to suffer in hell for all eternity?

And stop telling me that you fundamentalists don't mock others. I've asked several times here if the pious moral Buddhist will go to hell, if God ignores his prayers. Almost all fundamentalists said yes. Even somebody here said that Buddhists don't believe in God. They do believe in God. It just isn't your God. But again, you mock them, saying the God Buddhists have believed in since before Jesus Christ is a fake God, therefore no God at all.

they dont
Obviously there can only be one true religion, i mean this should be OBVIOUS to anyone with a brain. Therefore followers of the true religion have a kind of moral duty to lead others to the correct path. This should be done with love and open arms. Actually mocking a non-believer would be kinda counterproductive.

One ought to understand: the place there is spectacular awesomeness, there will be people who're triumph over with jealousy because of the fact of it. the place there will be peace, there will be people who could carry chaos to it. the place there is wish, there are people who could carry melancholy. the place there is easy, there are people who could carry darkness. the place there is forgiveness, blame. the place there is love, hate. the place there is popularity, ridicule. This has consistently been the character of human beings because of the fact the beginning up of time, and it won't exchange till human beings... for my area and as an entire... exchange it. it is why i'm a Christian. God is the only infallible love there is. One choose purely seem on the vast majority of the responses to the religious questions in this room to be attentive to that the worldwide is experiencing a love deficiency. I refuse to be an element of that subject for one greater day!

Religion is such a sensitive subject that any two people with different beliefs would feel the other is mocking them. For instance If I shared my beliefs to an atheist, about heaven or hell they would come back at me saying there is no such thing and both of us would feel that sense of wanting to "prove my point" Because for most people who have beliefs that is the core of your life and for someone to tell you it is wrong is like laughing at everything you live for and believe in- I do not understand why some feel the need to "bash" others though... that is just pure hatred and ugliness

Because people fear what they do not understand. And they might not understand why someone would not follow what they believe. Perhaps they were just misinformed about said religions, which happens more often than not. But yes I understand what you are talking about. I myself have had several run ins with many a christian like the ones you describe.

Umm, I have not posted anything mocking your religion but you are mocking mine right here! As a Christian I know that it is not my place to judge others nor do I have the power to condemn anyone to hell and that's dito for you.

Well some do but the same is true for all religions
oh and budhists don't beleive in god, just so you know, they believe in salvation brought by themselves.
The one they believe in is Budha, or Sidhartha Guatama, the original Budah. A man who believed he achieved ultimate nirvana through deep metitation. He wanted not to feel the sadness anymore after the death of his son. If Budhist don't know this they should look deeper into the origins of Budhism and how it was originally formed.

tych: Firstly; please do not lump all Christians as mockers of other religions. I, for one, do not mock people for his or her beliefs. Yes; granted, some "Christians" due to their immaturity or lack of being converted, DO run other religions down, which is wrong ! But; remember this - not all who post on here are christian either. Some like to stir the pot and get a rise out of others.

Teachings based on fear.
"Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering." Yoda, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
(JUST KIDDING!!)
I think you are taking a very narrow minded view of "Christians". There are people like that in EVERY religion. If you find yourself being "Mocked" then reply with something like;
"If you fear for my soul because that is what your religion teaches, fine. You may pray for me, but do not try to reconvert me. If you must try, the please follow the example of one Fundamentalist Christian of my acquaintance whom I highly respect; live as a shining example of the best your religion has to offer."

Please do not lump all Christians together like that. I am proud to be Christian. I may not agree with the beliefs of Buddhists or Jews, but it is their God given right to worship who, how, where and what they want. I respect everyone's choice to worship as they choose.

All major religions have the same basic guiding principles. I think true Christians believe that all people who follow these principles, whether they do it in the name of Allah or Buddha or Christ, will be saved because they have sought the truth as best as they were able.

Christianity seems to require all people to follow their religion to be saved, and one method of getting people to do what you do is peer pressure.. mocking is part of peer pressure.
