I have been dating this guy for several months and we have fallen in love. I am 4 years older than he is, but he doesnt seem to able to keep up with me. He is a homebody and would rather stay home all night and watch T.V. whereas I love to be out and social. For my birthday he didnt plan anything special for me at all and it was the same for Christmas. I went out of my way for him for Christmas. He is constantly telling me he loves me and when we are together he always knows the right things to say, but actins speak louder than words and his actions just arent there. This is the first time I have dated a younger man, I have always dated people that are 10+ years older than me. Is his lack of actions because he is too young and doesnt know any better, or am I in a one sided relationship?

is he mooching of you hon?! also,,dont get sucked into a relationship with a homebody if you like to be active,,cause its going to be unsatisfying to you! im getting the wibe that you are already unsatisfied with this whole thing and you know you deserve much more in a man. move on before you dig yourself too deep into this,,,i know you wouldnt have posted this unless you were feeling something is not right here!

All the best to you!

I married someone like this. They don't know how to show excitement or much emotion. Don't expect it to change. He'll never think in terms of surprising you. does he tell you what he got you when he buys you a gift? That won't change either. I'm not sure what makes them this way but it's who they are and it is no reflection on you or your relationship. By the way I'm divorced.

He is unactive because he just don't know any different. I don't think it's the age thing. You two just aren't a good match. If you're going to stay together you're going to have to figure out how to meet half way...rather he's gunna have to figure out how.

It may have nothing to do with age.My boyfriend is 3 years older and definately believes in actions over words.I think it may just be the type of guy he is.Try talking to him about it.

it could be both things sound like he not seeing you as you see
him and that could be the age factor, also he may not feel that
he need to do anything diffent for you. but if you want this to
work then time to talk to him about how you are feeliing, you may
need to move on.

I don't think this sounds quite right to me, and he's a bit too young for you.

He may love you but that kind of love isn't satisfying to you. Yes it's onesided....you obviously need more.

Don't think it's the age. Maybe its that he's not the type that would go all out just to please a girl.
