Don't need to say anything, don't need to do anything. Don't have to prove anything, just enjoy being with him, afterall you 2 is in love bcoz you loved each other , not becoz you want to prove anything. For your dad, im sure he is happy, but maybe he is constantly worrying about how things might turn out, he might also constantly saying negative things, but just prove to him that you will not be unhappy or leaving him , and you will still visit him after you are married. Let everything be natural and people will shut up after may comes.

If you're his baby girl, he probably doesn't want to let go. He feels like he's loosing you. You should spend some time with him & ask him. If he says something negative, just think of it as a way of trying to keep you around longer.
As for his brother, they can be so childish. Ignore it! My husband did the same with most of his siblings!

TALK TO YOUR DAD, AND TELL HIM THAT YOU REALLY WOULD LIKE HIS BLESSING, BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO GET MARRIED, WHEATHER HE LIKES IT OR NOT. AND TELL HIM HES GAINING A SON IN LAW. AND THAT HE IS NOT LOSING YOU. AND FOR YOUR SOON TO BE BROTHER IN LAW AND EVERYONE ELSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO PROVE NOTHING TO NO ONE. AND WHEN YOU DO GET MARRIED IN MAY. THEY WILL KNOW THAT YOU WERE SERIOUS. CONGRADULATIONS, MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

He may not EXCEPT it in January, February, March and April, but once May comes around, he will have to ACCEPT it.

Looking for other peoples approval usually means you feel like you have to defend your actions. People who think they need to defend their actions are usually trying to convince themselves that they are doing the right thing.
