Crazy random night, just "everyone meet at the park on the hill at midnight". We get up there--the park is crazy, five minutes of trudging through pitch-black woods to come out on a clearing overlooking the whole city--there's music and a bonfire and absinthe, and it's not long before the real fire-dancing starts; people throwing sticks alight at both ends like batons, dancing around the fire. A few people had hand drums, and eventually the boombox went off and it was nothing but dancing and drumming, something hot and primal comes up and the chanting begins--who knows who started it, but everyone picked it up--not English, who knows what language, but we all knew the words somehow and soon we knew the tune when it broke into real singing, and it didn't end until the sun started to come up and the last person had collapsed in a sweaty heap.

I've got two. One is a Winter Solstice Celebration in Dallas, back before the event was moved to a bigger church. There was music and prayer, and then at intermission we did a spiral dance out the doors and around the church in the freezing weather and back inside, singing and laughing. Just as we got back to our seats, a bunch of bagpipes kicked in for the next musical number, and the music just *shivered* through me. It was great.
The other best event was a bonfire at a UU camp, when my CUUPS group did an autumn ritual. I'm a fairly urban person, so I rarely get to actually *dance* around a real, roaring *bonfire.* It was wonderfully primal, and I loved belonging to a church that supported and joined it.

The Pagan Festival & Parade. Hahaha I went once and had an amazing time. It was so wonderful to be around so many people, being a solitary it was fantastic. Information on it can be found here http://thepaganalliance.org/

Event? I've never been to a Pagan event. There's no one around here that would dare to hold one. I live in the middle of the Canadian bible belt and it would be incredibly stupid of anyone to even try.

I have fond memories of sunday service when i was an altar boy (although I did manage to fall asleep alot during the mass) but I think my initation during the Halloween season was particularly memorable. For that briefest of moments, everything sorta made sense.

A Church Service on Christmas Eve. The singing and music is so uplifting. Not to mention the preaching from the Bible. But as you can tell I am not a Pagan, I am a Christian. God Bless.
