It does hit the cerebelum, indeed, but the part that makes you drunk is the fact that alcohol is actually a toxin to the body. Your liver can process a certain amount per unit of time, but if you overcome this amount then there is a temporary build-up of toxins in your bloodstream. When these toxins get to the brain that's when you feel drunk. After you stop drinking the liver eventually catches up and can process all of the toxin out of your bloodstream, which makes you sober again.

when you drink alcohol it hits the cerebellum primarily first, which is a section in your brain..this area controls movement, posture, athleticism and such....so you start having a hard time walking and what not...it impairs part of the functions...drink safe!
