You will have to tell us what letter goes with the amount. For example, if it is a "D", then it is money that went into your 401k. For most people, this does not affect their tax return. But for some people, especially people with lower incomes, it may qualify you for the Retirement Savers Credit. Other letters mean other things. Look at the back of your W-2 for more information, or check with your tax accountant.

According to the W-2 instructions, that amount is uncollected Social Security tax on tips. It is money that you owe, and is included on line 59 and in your Total tax Due, line 63. See the instructions for form 4137 to report this income and figure the tax.

It doesn't. The amounts reported there will have a letter code to tell you what the item is. Items such as group term life insurance premiums paid by your employer, or your 401(k) contribution is usually reported here. It is for your information only.
