I was not real pleased with it. It is very similuar to Atkins and Sugar Busters. It is a carb limiting diet. I actually went the other way and did the McDougall diet. www.drmcdougal.com
This is a starch based diet. The idea is to think of the healthy people on this planet with the least population of obesity and it is places that have a starch (rice, potatoes, beans) as their food staple. Another think I like about the McDougall diet is that if you run into a problem you can ask him on his website and get a rapid response. Oh and by the way, I have lost 40 lbs so far and keeping it off. I feel better, have more energy, my blood pressure is almost normal...it was very high...and I have never felt hungry. The downside is that some of the food is not as tasty. A lot of it is Mexican style stuff and spicy...which is not my style. I have found ways to alter it and I love the diet. Good luck to you.

I did the south beach diet and w/in 2wks lost 15lbs just from following the diet w/out exercise. I then included exercise into the later phases. I enjoyed it better than Atkins b/c eventually you gradually bring back some carbs and sugars. It's also good b/c if you happen to mess up you can always start back at the first phase. This is a good thing but also a bad thing knowing it!! I didn't buy the big book but went to Walmart and bought the smaller book for like $5 which breaks down the good and bad foods through all 3 phases. This helped me better b/c I was able to highlight what I liked throughout the book and bring it w/me to the market. Think of it as a change of life instead of a diet! Good Luck w/whatever you decide and I hope you hit your goal!!

a friend of mine was on one of these diets..i think sonoma and she was having a hard time but worked alot so couldn't got to support groups like weight watchers and said someone recommended a website called three fat girls or chickens or something like that (sorry i can't remember the name as this was a while ago). she went on it and i guess it really helped her with support, the diet and recipes. i do know she lost all the weight she wanted and has kept it off..she looks great. (if i talk to her i'll get the specific name and post it here)

I've done the Atkins diet twice, which is very similar, and it works great.... BUT for best results, you have to accept that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. No breads, no starches, no sodas.
BTW, it gives you an outrageous energy boost too!

whatever you do, its the nutrition that plays a mojor role in weight management. Its like having the right fuel to drive your vehicle:
Men1"=1kg=2.2lbs and women 1"=800gms=1.76lbs standard weight
Fat% men 16% and women 26% upto age 39ys
Calorie intake:- 2000-2200 for men and 1500-1800 for women
If you adhere to this parameter you can lose or gain weight by using cellular nutrition- available in 63 countries currently, only through authorised constants-replacing two of you meals with cellular nutrition and having one meal of your choice, plus drinking one liter of water for every 20ks=44lbs to lose weight 1 to 2 lbs per week and do maintenance for equal period of weight loss , replacing one meal a day, to gain weight have cellular nutrition once after each meal, plus drink adequate quantity of water as mentioned above.
