may be,
In Holy Quran it is mentioned (21:85), that Dhal Kifl was a good (patient) man, some religious scholars assume that Dhal-Kifl is meant over hare as, Buddha, as he was born in the city Kipl. His father was king of kipl.

It's actually Siddhartha (with the extra h) Gautama and Buddhists would not call him a prophet.
An Indian Prince who left his palaces and riches to become a wandering holy man, he became fully enlightened after many hardships and much meditation.
Enlightenment, in Buddhism, means much more than intellectual wisdom but is a spiritual state of completeness with the universe.
The problem with enlightenment is that you can't describe it or define it. (My few words above are only an attempt to wrap words around the indescribable. They're not what enlightenment actually is.)
So, when he came back from this enlightenment experience he could not speak about it. What he chose instead was to show his followers a way of life which would lead them to escape the round of suffering which we are all on.
Many of the Buddha's teachings are very deep and mysterious but he never spoke about God nor, as far as I know, predicted the future. Neither did he seek to convert people from other faiths - still the case now.
He was a man who achieved a particular state and taught a way of living which would lead to Nirvana, the extinction of suffering.
Over the past two and a half thousand years many very wise people have added to, and commented on, the Buddha's teachings but, at root, that's what he taught. A way of life which includes disciplined thought, meditation and harmlessness.

Buddha was born a prince and became a teacher after he learnt about suffering. He never claimed to be nor is he believed to be the prophet of any supreme being. He is respected as a wise person who taught a lot of sound principles which govern the human condition. Buddhists do not (at least should not) worship Buddha.

He is an enlightened person to be followed. If you go to his teaching, you'll find nothing about god. Eight fold path, four noble truths all are related with just the right ways to live your life. His teaching says that in every person there is "buddha" quality, it's only because of our ignorance and vices this quality remains shadowed. If as a buddhist you take refuge in buddha, it means you are taking refuge in buddha within self and trying to bring your godly character out of yourself. So as your name suggests, do only right things in right ways and be a follower of buddha.

I wouldn't even call him a prophet. He was a man who gave up material desires and became enlightened. A great teacher.
