Our evolution has gone stagnent. When you mix the gene pool as we have it is very hard to move in any direction. Evolution means survival of the fittest. If we continue to support and help those who are less "evolutionarily" fit then the bad apples don't die out and the good ones don't progress any further. The only way we can "evolve" now is through sociology and science. MAYBE altering genes. But that isn't evolution at all because evolution isn't working to a goal...really...not perfection as we would see it.

This question is framed accepting the theory of evolution and the XMEN series as correct. This is a good place to begin Please, at least consider that this is untrue. First, Hollywood and the medias in general :TV, radio, popular books and magazines are not a good source of information. They, concerning Spirituality, man and truth, do not have a clue. The theory of evolution is a very popular belief system that removes the Creator, and any need to heed Him. These are critical errors. Yet man, through the dominance of these medias is evolving: and it is not up. Consider: nothing in the universe evolves or changes up or for the better naturally. Beautiful homes collapse without constant maintenance. Your own body, after maturity, only goes one way, downhill. Planets, solar systems the whole universe is degrading, as a coat" they are just wearing out. Again I say man is evolving and the fact is we are being maneuvered into being more and more dependent on the system, we reject worshiping God , but ultimately worship much inferior things. . Government gives us security, corporations give us jobs, doctors give us health: right? Do you sense a fly in the ointment? Now the God of the Bible does have an incredible change in line for those who love truth: 1 Corinthians 2:9 " eye has not seen nor ear heard neither hath entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love Him" Psalm 16:11 " Thou (God) will show me the path of life.In Thy (God's) presence is fullness of joy. At Thy (God's) right hand are pleasures forever more"

Within mystic sects they have stated a bridegroom which is some sort of non sexed life form with a greater understanding of things. However in the gnostic texts of nag hammadi it states they will fight and steal from each other.

NOTE: majority of Christian sects labels these texts heresy.
quote from link below:

The forms of evil spirit include male ones and female ones. The males are they which unite with the souls which inhabit a female form, but the females are they which are mingled with those in a male form, though one who was disobedient. And none shall be able to escape them, since they detain him if he does not receive a male power or a female power, the bridegroom and the bride. One receives them from the mirrored bridal chamber. When the wanton women see a male sitting alone, they leap down on him and play with him and defile him. So also the lecherous men, when they see a beautiful woman sitting alone, they persuade her and compel her, wishing to defile her. But if they see the man and his wife sitting beside one another, the female cannot come into the man, nor can the male come into the woman. So if the image and the angel are united with one another, neither can any venture to go into the man or the woman.

Went to the museum today and asked that very question to my kids...we imagined ourselves on display and what we would be doing and how we would be potrayed. Considering how long humans have been around we have not evolved much...we have always been and will continue being "morons".

There are the beginning stages of integrating technology directly into our bodies already. I think it will be more like the Borg, but we will preserve our free will and individuality. Micro machines that could repair about anything in the body so we don't grow old seems reasonable.

Just a guess.

You could take it a step further and maybe we figure out how to download our consciousness to a computer and upload it to a new body. We could keep backup copies of it that way. Immortality???

I'm not sure we will evolve, evolution stems from a species' need to adapt to a changing environment. However, since the start of human history, we have strived to tailor the environment to our needs. It would probably take a catastrophic change in the environment to drive any sort of evolution, and we could become anything, depending on how our environment changes.

Yes , As Darwin said It is NOT the species that is the strongest that will survive, it is the one that has the ability to adapt. so we will all have to adapt to being morons (think the bible is factual)
