well now, you must not have read your story of the virgin Mary and the Announcement by Gabriel that she was to conceive Jesus....Ever read stories of Zeus and how he impregnated women like the mother of Persius? Jews believe (some) that God has a consort named Ashera...why else would he get the idea to create Lillith(Adam's first wife from mud, then Eve after Lillith left Adam in the garden of eden to go to the Red Sea and fornicate with Sammael and she thus became the first Demoness and created Lillin-succubus' and incubus'...)Is Jesus really forgotten? Or is he just biding his time until he returns in the second coming? How did the 200 grigori/watchers impregnate the mortal women of the earth (Genesis 6-sons of god)and create the giants called Nephillim? Hmmmm..?

Human beings are the ones who have attributed human-like features, ie our bodies, faces, gender, etc., to God. It seems ludicrous that a being so omnipotent would be something as mundane as male or female, or have corporeal substance at all.
EDIT: I had to comment after reading all the amazingly stunted thinking that just stops right at what it says in the Bible. Just because human beings have assumed God is male does not make it so. God was, of course, described as being male in the Bible. During ancient times men were in charge of everything - a woman was something to be owned more often than loved - so of course the men who wrote the Bible would say that God made man in his image. Women weren't even important enough to rate their very own creation, they had to come from the rib of Adam. It's hard not to see the connection, unless a person is one of those very strange beings who take everything written in the Bible as literal.

If God is pure energy I doubt there would be any gender issue. When God would speak would you expect a feminine voice or a male voice? Or should he or she sound like Stephen Hawking's synthesized voice? I suppose that this entity would choose to be whatever he or she deems necessary at the time. The saying that with God all things are possible applies regardless.

First of all, God our creator is neither male or female...he is a almighty spirit being who can use his active force or some translations use the term holy spirit to accomplish his will.
He used this active force to transfer his only begotten, (not forgotten), son as we know him today as Jesus in the womb of a virgin called Mary. That by the way was the only of its kind...a miracle using his active force or holy spirit.
To give you idea how powerful his active force is read Genesis Chapter 1, verse 2 and the rest of creation.
Peace......

If God was a woman the earth would have peace 3 and a half week out of the month and total chaos 5 days a month. Plus god crated man in his own image and Adam came before eve. Although to be honest god really isnt a man or a woman.

God is an energy force. Humans have this inate need to make everything human like therefore we have made this image in "heaven" of an old man with a beard. God is the entire universe, it is neither male nor female but androgynus infinite energy.

I have always made the joke that god was a woman, and created the woman first. But then noticed that the woman created couldn't even start a fire, cut wood, or kill the cute animals for food. Thus creating THE MAN. Also the serpent wasn't a snake it was most definitely Opera.

It would make a lot of sense, seeing women bear all the children that men rule over, and 52 percent of the worlds population are women. But common sense, reality, and religion, don't walk hand in hand.

Because males are usually given the productive roles in society so people subconsciously believe god is a male

This is the biggest problem I have with the Catholic bible. Human beings supposedly trying to interpret a deity by applying HUMAN attributes and definitions.
You should try other religions like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaghetti_monster to really challenge your idea of god.
