im 24 and i got a breast reduction 4 years ago. it was the best thing i could have done. i went to a doctor (free consultation) and they took a picture from the front and each side to send to the insurance company. they approved it and it was covered by insurance. not to talk negatively about myself but usually im a baby about pain and such but i handled it very well. its really not that bad. there are scars but i never think twice about it. and they really are not that bad. who sees your boobs anyways? only who and the person you are with hopefully. and im sure you have many other qualities to like other than that. i've been with my fiance for 6 years and he loves mine just the same. good luck to you!!!

One of my best friends and her mother both had them.
My friend started out at size EE bra, her mom was a D.
Both of their insurance companies paid for their surgeries, it has to do with overall proportion, and this being able to be established as medically necessary, not just cosmetic.
Having indentations on your shoulder area from bra makes a great pic for the insurance co.
Complaints of back, shoulder, and neck pain will help the claim.
As for how they look... I've seen my friends, hers are upright now where they used to hang way down there somewhere. She now wears a C cup, fits in her clothes and feels so much better. But honestly you can tell she had surgery. there are scars along the crease and one in the center running up and around the nipple, as she had the nipples reduced too. She says she would do it again in a heartbeat. Everything went great for her, easy recovery etc. But for her mom, it was the opposite, she formed really bad scar tissue it was so painful for her, and she's not so sure if she'd do it again.
My friend payed about $1k in co-payments and her mom payed $1600, but it totally depends on your insurance plan.
As for finding a good Doc. the thing about plastic surgeons is they almost always have a list of patient referrals, you can call these people and ask about their experiences. They also have a photo album of before and after shots.
Good luck!

Unless you have a medical condition because of your breast size, your insurance company will not cover. They consider it a cosmetic procedure. If you have severe back pain, etc go to your doctor and get it recorded. Your doctor can start the ball rolling to get it covered by insurance.

I have not had it done, but my good friend did. She had DD and got a reduction to a C cup. She is only 5'4 and 110lbs so her back and shoulders had severe pain. After dealing with it for over 6 years she had it done. Her insurance covered all of it except 20%. She had it done in Cleveland, Ohio.

They look very natural. Very even and perky (haha). Last summer she wore a bikini and it looked great. I was just glad for her as her pain is finally gone and her self confidence is back

They look perfectly natural. Your breasts need ONE YEAR to fully heal... scarring, final size, etc. I had my surgery in Feb '06 and my scars are 95% gone.

Go to your doctor and ask for a referral for a plastic surgeon and make sure he is covered by your insurance. Complain about back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, grooves in shoulders from your bra, rashes under your breasts, etc. They will take pics of you and send it in to get approval from insurance. Depending on the insurance, they will cover anywhere from 75% to 100% (mine covered 100%).

Go to http://www.breasthealthonline.com register and start reading the FAQ section for breast reduction. Also check out the main support board for reductions!

I was a 38J and went to a 38C and I do not regret it one bit.

I just had a one about four weeks ago. My doctor did an awesome job and mine are almost practically even. Before my reduction you could definitely tell the size difference and now I can't tell you which one is bigger. They are a little firm along the stitches but that is expected because of the surgery.
My insurance covered most of mine because it was health related.

My reduction was covered by our provincial medicare plan because it was for medical reasons and not cosmetic. Back pain, muscle strain in the neck, etc. They took off over 2lbs of tissue. The recover took from 4-6 weeks, and I immediately was free from pain and had a great looking new set of boobs. I had no pain from the surgery and recovered well. Scarring was minimal.

Breast Reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

My wife had one doen. Insurance will cover it if it is deemd medicaly nesessary. Find a good plastic surgeon and he should be able to tell you if the insurance will cover it or not. In my wifes case we did not have to pay a dime, but she went from a size F to a C. And they look great, small scar tissue is the only sign she had it done.

My cousin had it done and shes never been happier. She was having bad back and sholder problems and the doctors suggested she do it. I think her insurance paid for it because of her back back problems. It looks all natural now. SHe's tiny and loves it. It might have been around a few thousand dollars.

communicate to your wellbeing practitioner. while you're breasts are inflicting a burden on your neck or issues respiratory or something of the like, ask your wellbeing practitioner if breast help is a sturdy answer and what are the hazards and advantages. if your breasts are extremely bigger than medium and are not posing wellbeing damaging aspects, surgical operation is expensive and going under the knife isn't consumer-friendly - an entire chest is sturdy!
