I look at it this way: You either believe in gods or you don't. And if you're going to believe in them, may as well believe in ALL of them, since you don't know which is right anyway. If anyone can follow my logic...I think that's the next most sensible path after atheism. (And to be honest, I teeter between the two--all or none. Not one or a few ever,)

It is not about numbers so put the calculator down. Why do I get along with atheist? Simple, I agree to disagree and let it be; while a some Christians will try to beat their religion into the poor individuals head until they either go insane or walk away. Now the insane part does not really happen, but there are those who are so insistent about their faith that the other person feels like they are going insane. Some of my closest friends are Christian and one of them is a preachers daughter, but we acknowledge our differences in religion, and move on with our lives.

I get along with the Atheists because they for the most part are more logical then monotheists. The monotheists are always making ludicrous claims about how there's is the only god and giving him contradictory attributes which make his existence impossible. Then they turn around and preach that their religion is the only way and if your don't bow down and worship their god you will burn. That turns everyone off. Monotheists also are rather fond of attacking science as if it's a rival religion simply because they see it as a threat.
I suspect that Atheists get along better with Pagans because we don't preach at them and we don't have to attack science. I for one have no problem with someone not believing in any gods, but monotheists have a huge problem with that. Both Atheists and Pagans have been persecuted by monotheists for not believing in their god, so there is also some common ground there. None of us likes to have a religion shoved down our throats and forced into the government unconstitutionally.

Along with all the other good answers given--for some reason, pagans and atheists both seem to be voracious readers. Sure, other religions can read quite a bit, but put them in a room with pagans and atheists, and you're more likely to have the atheists and pagans get into discussions about non-fiction and fiction books they've read. And maybe D&D. But probably books :-)

Atheists don't try to shove their belief systems down other's throats, and neither do Pagans, Wiccans, neither do Jews,Catholics-- neither does any other religion, belief system, or philosophy. Throughout my entire life so far the only people who've ever tried to convert me where Christians--so much so I'm at the point to tell them all to just shut the h*ll up and leave other's alone. Just be happy you found something that suits your own individual belief system and stay out of other folks faiths or beliefs. Spirituality is very personal, precious and an individual experience of development.

Atheists don't have a problem with Christians because they believe in a god, but because they try to push their beliefs down everybody else's throat and into legislation. Many Christians are very arrogant and disrespectful towards non-Christians and are constantly trying to convert them, which makes it hard to get along with them.
Pagans don't do that. They don't try to push their belief on others or try to convert people. They don't try to dictate other people's lives through legislation according to their beliefs either. That's why atheists don't have a problem with them. Pagans are respectful and have the same "live and let live" attitude as most atheists have. That's what makes it so easy for us to get along with each other.

Because pagans don't preach and they accept others' belief systems (or lack thereof). I wrote an article recently on the relationship between paganism and atheism, and it's actually a lot closer than atheism and monotheism as far as the spectrum of beliefs go. I have no problem with atheists--I don't try to convert them and for the most part they don't try to convert me.

Basically it comes down to a question of the pagans and the atheists for the most part not preaching to the other that they're "wrong".
We don't get into "my god is better than your (non)-god" arguments. Most pagans don't claim that their way is the ONLY right way - just that it's THEIR right way, and others are free to believe (or not believe) as they choose.

Both pagans and atheists base their beliefs and opinions on observable phenomenon. Pagans may use deities but those deities are manifestations of the natural world such as seasons and emotions. Both groups have also be persecuted quite badly by other religions.

Most atheists are educated in science and, thus, are concerned about the current destruction of Nature by pollution and overpopulation. Neo-pagans also have an abiding love of and concern for Nature. Beyond that, atheists have nothing in common with pagans.
