If you are a born again Christian, that is in essence what you do; you realize that your life belongs to Him and you trust Him to order it for you.
Doesn't mean you sit down on the sofa and never make a decision again...it means you live your life, but seek Him in all things. It also means that whatever comes my way, I trust that God will work it for good. The more you come to know the perfect faithfulness of God, the more you trust Him with every aspect of your life.

Believing in God is what is in your heart. It is a spiritual connection between you and the Divine God. You do spend your life connected to God if you indeed believe in Him.
The way to keep this connection alive and nurture it is by improving every aspect of you as a human and realizing that one day you will die and that you will have to ccount for all the good and all the bad you did. So live your life doing good and stay away from bad and you are already doing your part in believing in God.

The best way to give up your life into the hands of God is to ask Jesus (who died for our sins, and rose again) into your heart, and accept Jesus as your lord and saviour. Your eternal destiny is then in God's hands, and you have been born all over again (that is, your spirit), as a child of God. Once that is done, you have entered into a relationship with Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. God is then your father (better than any father), and Jesus is the king of your life (and brother), and the Holy Spirit helps you do do what God wants. You do what God wants out of a loving relationship with Him, not by obeying religious man made rules. God wants a child to delight in, to share His love with, who will love Him back, and join as a partner to fulfill His purpose for mankind.

I think they just meant that some people devote their lives to God to an extreme extent; they don't take a single action or breath without thinking about God and how he affects them. Their entire lives are consumed by religion.
I don't think it's so bad because I believe life is sacred, so why not live it that way? Certain religions are a little psycho, though.

Yes
If you are truly a follower of God, you will give up what you want for what God's will is.
God has a plan for everyone- Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
If you have taken Jesus as your personal savior, than you have everything to repay to God. He's saving you from an eternity in hell.
Romans tells us we should give our lives as a living sacrifice Holy and pleasing to God.
God has a plan, and We have our wants. God knows what he's doing. He has plans for you. Our job is to live the way God wants, and trust Him in everything we do, and know everything is in his hands, even if it goes crazy. Just follow what He says even if its crazy, and it will work out.
God does amazing things in people's lives if they follow and give everything to Him.
Through Grief will come happiness- just like the saying you have to go through the rain to get to the sunshine.
It's not easy, and often times people drift off into what they want, but God is always there with them. Through the tough stuff, and through the easy stuff. God's light always shines through the darkness, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. light always penetrates darkness, darkness never penetrates light.

If you were in a burning house and someone reached in and grabbed you, you would feel grateful to that person for your life, right? Well, it is like that with God, Christians are so grateful to Him for giving them eternal life that they are more than happy and willing to serve and honor Him in any way that will please Him. By letting Him guide and direct us through life, we are trusting Him and honoring Him as God.

It doesn't mean giving up your life persay. It means being available for whatever God calls you to do. If He calls you to do mission work, you are to be available to do it, etc.
Yes, some do devote their whole life to God. But, sadly, most Christians do not.

Giving your life over to God means just that. You do everything as if unto the Lord. That saying that people use" "What would Jesus do?" means just that. Before you decide on anything, ask yourself what would Jesus do? That is what that means, plain and simple.

That is it in a nut shell. To walk the path of Christ and commit your actions in his name, such as feeding the hungry and washing a poor mans feet are examples of devotion to God.

For those who have accepted the spirit of god into them and ask of it and listen for the answer and try to do gods will in life, then yes.its all in Gods hands because they truly have faith and trust.a total undoubting Faith,so God directs life for them.
I was asked once driving down the road by the spirit to pick up a box turtle..when you pray a lot and listen you can feel the spirit lead you to do something. I go door to door sales and the next home I stopped at the Lady came out afterwards and she saw the box turtle in my truck seat and she said. ow! you have a box turtle. my son loaned his friend his turtle and he lost it and would you give him your turtle. of course I gave it to her.later my friend Linda and I were picking up her girl from school and this boy got in to get a ride home and it was that boy.
If you pray a lot and listen within yourself for the answers after a while you get to know the spirit .Jesus said he was going back to be with his father and he would leave us the holy spirit. That's all we have .so I ask of it. my parents showed me how to pray and they learned from there parents.its something you have to practice. for yourself. no one can truly tell you about it.fully.I could write for an hour about miracles I have seen.when you accept the spirit within you you will see and experiance them also.
