I would suggest brushing your tounge, and using mints, just so the poor people that have to talk to you during the day would appreciate it.

As I remember before my teacher said that having a bad breath is caused by several factors such as tooth decay, food particles caught in between the teeth, disease of the gums and dry mucous membrane. Dry mouth can be caused by inadequate fluid intake or by breathing through the mouth. Other possible reasons are infections originating from the areas surrounding the oral cavity. These are inflamed tonsils (tonsilitis), inflamed sinus (sinusitis) and any infection in the nasal passages.
Bad breath may also be a problem to those who have throat and lung diseases, irregularity in bowel movements, and it can be prevented if you do the following:
1. Brush the teeth and the tongue after each meal.
2. Use dental floss at leasat once a day.
3. Breathe through the nose.
4. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent mouth dryness and to facilitate bowel movement.
5. If you have tooth decay and gum diseases, see the dentist for treatment.
6. Use breath freshener to help in maintaining fresh breath but only after food particles are removed from the teeth.
7. Refer the condition to a physician for diagnosis and treatment.

Adeel,
"Bad smells" can come from many sources.
1. One can brush their teeth and if you don't floss, your teeth can still hold particles that cause a smell.
2. A decaying tooth can cause an odor.
3. You may have gunky buildup on your tongue. There are tongue scrapers in stores, and you need to brush your tongues with your tooth brush daily.
4. You may have something going on in your sinuses/ nasel passages. An infection here can cause terrible bad breath.
5. There may be a cause from something going on down your throat as well . . . . this would have to be checked out by a doctor.
6. You may be eating foods that cause a strong smell. Garlic, onions, cheeses, spices, and other strong foods are common culprits.
I know this seems daunting, but the causes of bad breath are many. With a little patience, and perseverance you can get this taken care of.
Good luck!

I have tried brushing my teeth often in a day but I forgot to brush my tongue..and my mouth really smell..but when I started brushing my tongue, the foul smell was gone...Then I realized it was my tongue that made my mouth smell bad....and then finished it off with a mouth rinse...This worked for me...why not try it...!! Think of the tongue and not just the teeth....

You MUST floss twice a day to get the food trapped in between your teeth out.
This is one of the major reasons for bad breath.
Also try a mouthwash after brushing.
If this does not work see a Dentist, I hear there is a condition of chronic bad breath that you may need treatment for.
Good luck.

Best thing to do is see your dentist every 6 months, brush twice daily, floss, brush your tongue, and rinse with an oral rinse. Sometimes odor can be caused by food trapped between teeth and can be removed by flossing which people tend to ignore...floss and smell it, its nasty! Otherwise, tonsillar crypts can trap food and putrify it over time and create odor, this usually can be identified by a bad taste or smell when swallowing.

It could be your tongue. Manypeople have issues with an odoriferous tongue. Do you brush your tongue when you brush your teeth? They make all kinds of products for tongue cleaning as well. And also, do you make sure and brush really well in the back? You may want to try a mouthwash if you don't already.

You are also supposed to brush your tongue to get rid of smelly bacteria.
Are your gums a little white on the edges? If so, the bad breath is from gum disease and you need to floss more. If not, no worries.

Along with flossing, brushing and using mouthwash, you may want to check if you have a stomach problem. Sometimes stomach ailments can cause bad breath.

Get some breath RX from your dentist. Odors come from your tongue, not your teeth. Get a tongue scrapper.
