Its 11:30 pm...the vet is out of the question for the next 9 hours.

He probably has some minor cuts from chewing the ice. Leave it alone and if it doesn't go down in a day, go to the vet to make sure there's nothing stuck in a cut.

It shouldn't have hurt him to bite some ice. Maybe he cut himself on it. check for blood and see how deep the wound is.
Usually just a small cut on the snout will heal soon.

dont worry about it dogs moths have a very fast healing rate like the human toungue because of all the muscle in a dog mouth it heal exeptioally fast just let the dogs be for a good 2 days and try and feef ur dog soft food

Heheeh. This might sound funny, but the best way to heal swolleness is ice. Use an ice pack everyday to help him recover.
Ice is the best way to heal things like that.

The swelling will go down, if it hasnt by tomorrow take him to the VET

i give my dog ice all the time and it dosent hurt him
he must have cut himself check for wounds

I would suggest leaving him be....unless its affecting him eating...don't give him water...let him eat snow...the swelling will come down.....if it persist more then a week definately see a vet..
