I have had constant chest discomfort for 2 weeks now. I had several tests done, and all seems okay. The constant pian moved to my back for a few days, and now it's gone, except for what happens every couple of hours or so. I get this very sharp pain in m chest. It is so sharp that it hurts to breath. It lasts about 10-30 minutes, and then goes away. What's going on?

if you've had any type of respiratory illness (even just a cold) you might have pleurisy. When I had it the doctor told that they usually have a hard time detecting it, but I was lucky because it was very obvious. It hurt like hell, especially in my chest when I tried to breathe. It's an inflammation of the lining around your lungs. I would talk to your doctor again and let them know exactly what's going on

Had you been sick prior to the pain? Several years ago I had the same problem, had just got over a cold and the pain started in. Turned out the cold virus settled into a weakened part of my body, my diaphragm. It hurt to take a breathe. Go back to the doctor.

Did you hurt your back right before you started having the pain in your chest? Something out of place in your spine can cause chest pains and difficulty to breath. I found this out when I was rear ended by another car.
