Only time will tell. I would recommend that you bring him in during a time when you can watch him totally. Then after he eats or wakes up, ask him if he needs to toilet? Take him to a place he likes to go anyway and tell him toilet. Then if he does something tell him good toilet. Use the SAME word every single time and take him to the same place every time. It keeps the dog from getting confused. I know folks who use puppy pads, but I am of the school that believes in never letting that first accident happen if you can help it. Also, it may sound mean, but at night restrict his movements to such a degree that if he potties he would have to lay in it. That will prevent it as a dog won't go if they have to get in it.....maybe a puppy, but not an adult if they can help it. A kennel just his size would work, then any time you can't watch him every minute you should place in kennel and take out to go to the toilet. It doesn't matter if you say pottie, outside, etc etc....as long as you and every person in the house goes to the same spot and says the same word. Good luck.

I have no idea if discipline works for a canine due to the fact that they can't rather comprehend what they're being disciplined for. Have you ever crate informed? Do that: get her a crate which supplies her adequate house to move and be secure. Preserve toys, blankets, small quantity of meals and water in there. When you're long past, depart her in this crate and whilst you return, earlier than doing anything else take her outside and wait unless she pees. She is going to get it down. Most dogs won't go to the restroom where they are more likely to sleep or devour.

If he started messing in the house all of a sudden, it's a good idea to get a vet check. Sudden changes in bathrooming behaviors (accidents when they never happened before) can be a sign of sickness.
When he gets a clean bill of health, start potty training over from the beginning.
Keep him on a leash near you, and confined when you can't watch him to confine the mess.
good luck

yep get a crate and do it all over. it happens sometimes and they need a refresher. don't waste your money on pee pads they confuse your dog because you're saying it's ok to go in the house as long as you do it here. get a crate. be very consistant and patient. here's a site that's wonderful and can apply to older dogs and not just puppies.. but if it's been out of the blue, take him to the vet first. he might have a bladder infection. start with your vet.

Use puppy pads, or weewee pads. They have scent on them so that dogs can go on it. Use one everyday, moving it closer and closer to the door of your lawn. Eventually you are outside. Use the pads for a while then take it away.

it certainly is...first-if your once housebroken dog suddenly isn't anymore I might take him to the vet and make sure there isn't something wrong (urinary tract infection etc.)
When we moved my recently housebroken dog suddenly started having accidents!! I put her back in her kennel whenever she wasn't being watched (night time, etc) and she was soon back to doing things the right way.
good luck to you.
