I have been asked by my son did humans and dinosaurs coexist.I believe in God and know the Bible makes references to dinosaurs ,but I dont know where .Can some one help.Everything I learned in school tells me no ,but I want to get as many facts together as I can before lying to my son with a wrong answer.and if you have any scientific facts feel free to present those as well,and please state your sources.(because uncle louie said so doesnt cut it. sorry!!) First of all, I am not going to go against your beliefs, BUT the people who wrote the bible, had no way of knowing about dinosaurs. Furthermore, the existence of dinosaurs coexisting with humans is impossible.
A dinosaur fossil dates at a different age from the age of the first hominid fossils. Secondly, it would completely contradict the current philogenetic tree. Last, it would be impossible to explain the death of dinosaurs and the survival of humans, let alone their coexistence. Simply put, we only have knowledge of dinosaurs since we discovered their fossils. Any "reference" in the bible is a misinterpretation of a very valuable moral code. The bible, since the old testament, is literally "the law" (torah). It is a moral code, and a cryptic one in which many valuable moral lessons are taught, as well as some (possible) historical anecdotes. A lizard with feet, for example, may be taken literally as a dinosaur. But then, if you take genesis literally, then humans came from dust and Earth only exists for 6000 years. Thus, dinosaurs would have existed in some magical-fantastical way with us. And we would fly on top of flying dinosaurs in some flinstones-esque manner.

God created the Earth and all life in a six days right ? So he created the earth ,dinosaurs , tigers , cats , ants , dogs , humans, flowers and trees etc. all at one time . Which means that dinosaurs along with humans and all the other life all coexisted together. Where are the Dinosaurs now ? Read your bible is there any mention of such a prominent creature as the dinosaur. Creatures that weighed several tons and were over 40 feet long and stood several stories high.Does anyone i there right mind think that we coexisted with dinosaurs ?I know its taboo to question anything in the bible , but there comes a time when you have to use your brain and question things.There is no mention of dinosaurs in the bible. how could there be , dinosaurs were extinct millions of years before we came into existence and before the bible was written. Face it the creation theory is very flawed and it cannot be validated at all. Use your brain , Don't accept what your told , you must question things

I'm not telling you how to parent, but stop now or you could be arrested for child abuse for telling him this crap. They could not have possibly coexisted. Do you have any idea how large dinosaurs are? Besides that when they were around the O2 levels were too low for us to effeciently survive. Don't get these kinds of answers from this place do some research. Google your question, find some answers and teach your son how to do this as well.

Look all you want, you won't find them. It does mention unicorns (I forget the place, but it does) along with a few other mythological beasts. Some like to claim they are actually "dinosaurs", but the original Hebrew certainly doesn't say "dinosaurs".
"Leviathan" (referenced elsewhere in the answers) is a "mythological sea monster, parallel with 'dragon'" (annotation to Isaiah 27:1).
"Behemoth is not a mere hippopotamus but a primeval monster, a mythical symbol of chaos and evil" (annotation to Job 40:15-24).

they aren't. People just interpret parts of genesis to SAY it talks about dinosaurs. You do not need a Bible passage to tell your son that humans and dinosaurs did NOT coexist, science tells us that. They went extinct MILLIONS of years before man came along.

there is a 'million year' gap therory.. the k.j.v. bible reads, 'in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth AND the earth was void'........... the k.j.v. bible is the most mis translated bible around.. in original test it acutally reads, ' in the beginning god created the heaveans and the earth NOW the earth was void'.... many people believe that between the first and second verse of gen. there is alot of years missing.. as in , in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth (and dinosaurs and the comet that killed them, everything that went on till the earth froze) and NOW the earth was void and without form.. it speaks of gods spirtit hovering the water deep.. people believe as god hovered the ice, melting it.. said let there be light and so on.. it seems like whatever was going on then didnt pertain to us and all we needed to know was that he created the heavens and the earth in the beginning and NOW is where we are come in and should be concerned with... dinosaurs werent found as important as today as they didnt get you to heaven back then or now..

Basically God doesn't exist. Everything in life can be proven by science. But no humans did not co-exist with dinosaurs. Just tell him no because science proves it. Oh yeah dinosaurs aren't refrenced it the Bible.
