I need to strengthen the muscle at the inside front of my knee. The outside is overactive and tight, causing knee pain, but I want to know which exercises are best to strengthen the opposing muscle to get the knee tracking correctly again.

I am 5ft 5 in., and 108lbs, I do Pilates and Yoga on a regular basis, but I need something specific for the inside of the knee, the muscle right above the kneecap, I think its part of the quadriceps?

I would highly recommend Yoga as those are isometric exercises and so you will be using your own body weight as resistance and won't hurt yourself. It also stretches and flexes the spaces between your bones and makes them very flexible and in the process reduces pain and strengthens it too. In yoga, you do not push yourself too much. It is a gradual process which takes some time but is absolutely effective. Believe me, patience pays.
I seriously suggest not to go with weight training and such things as you have pain. It may lead to a permanent injury or you may even end up having surgery.
I also agree with the previous answerer, that body weight management also plays a very important role. Yogic poses take care of that aspect also. It actually rehauls the entire system. Please do try it.
Good luck

whatever you do, its the nutrition that plays a mojor role in weight management. Its like having the right fuel to drive your vehicle:
Men1"=1kg=2.2lbs and women 1"=800gms=1.76lbs standard weight
Fat% men 16% and women 26% upto age 39ys
Calorie intake:- 2000-2200 for men and 1500-1800 for women
If you adhere to this parameter you can lose or gain weight by using cellular nutrition- available in 63 countries currently, only through authorised constants-replacing two of you meals with cellular nutrition and having one meal of your choice, plus drinking one liter of water for every 20ks=44lbs to lose weight 1 to 2 lbs per week and to gain weight have cellular nutrition once after each meal, plus drink adequate quantity of water as mentioned above.
