do i have to file this with my other job which i had for 6 months when i do my taxes

you file this year for whatever income you had last year, once you get your w2.

Let me explain... If you make under a certain amount you aren't required to file. The reason you don't have to file is because you don't owe taxes. HOWEVER, you already paid taxes because they were taken out of your check. When you file they will refund what they took from your taxes. So you don't have to file but it's free so do it anyway to get your money back. I suggest going to the IRS.GOV Free File site tomorrow and doing a free e-file. It's free, easy, and you can get a refund in 2 weeks. They walk you through it step by step and anyone can understand it!

Read the page at the link above and click YES or NO on the bottom based on your answer (which is probably no on the 1st page but it asks more questions on other pages)

When you get your W2, you will have to file it. If you do not get one, you are supposed to do a 1099-misc.
