because it usually involves sex and they know you won't like the answer...lol.
Just kidding...kind of.
A lot of the time, as with anyone, they fear rejection and don't know how well received what they have to say or what your feedback or answer will be. They need to feel safe and comfortable that whatever they say or do, you will accept and admire and respect them anyway - even if you disagree.
I have been in a few situations before where a guy has lied to me and I became very irritated. If they had told me the truth in the first place instead of lying, I would have been happier even if it wasn't what I would have preferred to hear. This happens to lots of people.

If you mean on Yahoo answers, they can but they get lazy after a while because it is asked so many times.
