First of all ,they belong to the white race.Secondly , they were the true followers of George Washington. They wanted to prove a point to the civilized world that sincereity, loyalty,patriotism and the feelings of fraternity are great features one can uphold in his personality. And they did in the WHITE HOUSE. They call it a WHITE HOUSE again because WHITE is objective,untiring,pure and comprehensive.In the WHITE HOUSE they through their actions wanted to show the world that they are the true embodiments of characters associated with whiteness.

You must be trying to make a "special" point on MLK day huh? It is called the White House because it is painted (even the original in Monticello) WHITE.

I believe it's because at one time the white house was wooden and the boards where white washed. That was before the war of 1812 and the Canadians(then British) burnt it down.

They used to call it the Executive Mansion, but it's painted white and it got the name informally at first, but then the name was officially changed.

Not only because it is painted white. The colour also signifies purity - of thought, action and intent. To what extent it is being followed of course is open to debate.
