Talk to your vet, he or she can prescribe Valium, xanax or something like it to help calm him. Yes, they actually prescribe Valium and xanax, the same kind our doctors prescribe for us plus they also have other stuff similar to that just for dogs and cats.

Pauciflorum, it's natural and very sutil.
It really work I used it a lot for my dog when it was new years or 4th of July, she was terrified of the sound fireworks make.
If you wanna go with something stronger check the link below, but be sure to talk to a veterinarian first those could be very harmful if given the wrong dosage. For some dogs with heart problems those could cause serious harm.
For the Pauciflorum you have to wait a while for it to kick in, because is a natural product like I said, it tastes preety good actually, and I think any pharmacy might have it. Or even in the organic food section at the grocery store, maybe.

There are a few different products for this situation. Go to Petco, or any other well known pet stores near you and look for HomeoPet Anxiety Natural Homeopathic Remedy. Or there is also Richard's Organics Pet Calm. We have people coming into Petco very often searching for these products because they had such good results. They work with cats OR dogs when they are about to be bathed, about to go on a car ride, or to the vet, or any other stressful situation.
Hope this works!
If your local pet store does not carry these products, look atPetco.com!

We use an all natural product found in health food stored called "rescue remedy" It naturally calms humans and animals. It comes in an "eye dropper" type bottle. Simply suck up some in the eye dropper and then hold your dogs muzzle and place 5-6 drops on the top of his nose. Why his nose? because he cant resist licking it off and it is a lot easier than trying to hit a nervous dogs mouth.

gawd your gonna hate me over this, but when i bathed my large dogs for flea and tick, id duct-tape the front and rear paws. i was paranoid theyd run off and lick the poison and die or something.
over the yrs ive found its best to keep many hands around, and 1 person to soothe the dog. most dogs, and sometimes even swimmers hate baths, i think its because the water and soap break down the natural oils and so when its rinse time, the real cold hits them, even when the water is room temp.(ive never bathed them in warmer than room temp)
just have fun get soapy and run if your dog bites. my old jack would avoid me for 10 days to 2 weeks after a bath. even at mealtime. he was a grudgeholding grouch. the ex ran him over, he got mad at me, almost a month i didnt see my bud.

You can talk to him try to calm him down. Get two people if you can to hold him and to wash him. Have a towel for him to grip on. I had this problem with my dog and my cat. ( The cat was really dirty.) And that's what I did. :) Hope that helps!
