I was put on Lexapro 10 mg about 2 months ago and my doctor also gave me two months worth of Klonopin with it. I am weaning off the klonopin but have been very anxious (almost like the Lexapro isn't there) -- my doctor's advice, just start taking 20 mg of Lexapro. I don't want to do that if this if the anxiety is just coming from me getting off the Klonopin.

I would trust your doctor. It's possible that it could be anxiety from coming off the Klonopin but the Lexapro can still help. If you don't want to increase your meds you can try to find other ways to combat the anxiety. (and yes I know this can be easier said than done)

I believe that you are experiencing some minor withdrawals from the Klonopin; It is an addictive drug. If the anxiety is being caused by this withdrawal then you could probably take the edge off by increasing the Lexapro; however if you think you can manage the anxiety without that then hold off until it is completely necessary. Good luck.

Tell your doctor about this--you may be weaning too quickly off the klonopin--or you may need it for a longer period of time.

Discuss your fear of taking more of the Lexapro with your doctor--and keep him/her informed of anything strange--like the anxiety you're experiencing now.
