DHT is a male hormone produced as a byproduct of testosterone production. While there are chemicals and products that will interfere with that production, Im not sure you'd really want to. The only way to eliminate the DHT production would mean decreasing the testosterone production, which would interfere with you sexual function and secondary sexual characteristics supported by it. You might have a head full of hair, but that's about all you would have- and you would have an overabundance of female hormones left. Need I say what that would leave you with? Weight gain can be best controled by diet and exercise, less calorie intact and greater levels of physical activity will reduce your weight slowly but safely.
As I understand auyuvedic medicine, the aim to to establish and support a balance of things in the body- not to disrupt the balance that is meant to exist. An auyurvedic practictioner would be the best person to advise you on things you should do to address your concerns of hair loss and weight gain, to restore the balance of your dossas. I'm fairly certain that doing something to purposely eliminate production of a naturally occuring hormone would not be beneficial to maintaining that balance, but perhaps there is some other therapy they could offer you. But for that, you would need the practitioner.

Yes! I went in there recently to look for a compact foundation and found a really nice one which was about £12 or so and then I saw a minerals powder which looked nice so I thought I would try that too and that was about £14 for a teeeeeeny little pot and then the woman at the counter started her selling routine on me and said I needed to get the special brush to go with the powder and she managed to talk me into it but the brush was over £10 as well. If I'd known how much they were charging for the brush I would not have bought it but that woman knew how to sell! And the powder is crap anyway. I don't mind spending if it's something like Benefit or MAC but I did not expect Body Shop to be so expensive. I'll buy the foundation again but not the mineral powder cos I really didn't think it was worth it. And so I'm left with an expensive brush that I will probably never use again!

Try saw palmetto. It's becoming popular as a natural hair loss remedy.
Another thing to try are laser hair combs. These claim as having no side effects.
There's also Viviscal, a natural product from Europe.
Watch this Dateline NBC video report that reviewed 5 hair loss products - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6590766
