My cat walks around the house making these loud meows like he is calling out for something or he is in pain. I dont know why he does this but he has been doing this off and on for days now. i can even hear him doing it outside the house, what is going on with my cat? is this normal behavior? what can i do about it?

First of all...have you noticed if he does this while he urinates as well? Is he peeing more than usual? Aside from calling out for a mate if he is still intact...he could be plagued with Crystals. They are little stones that cause blockage in the bladder & can make peeing very painful. If your kitty is neutered, I would seriously consider taking him to the vet to be checked! Good Luck!

Uh oh. That sounds familiar. How old is the kitty? Is he/she fixed? If the cat is not fixed, then the answer is simple. Kitty is looking for love (in heat). Sounds almost like a moan in a way, loud deep and low. If it's a he (and i just caught that) he may start "marking his grounds". That may get very unpleasant. Is he having any other strange behaviors? Eating ok?

Your cat is not in pain...except maybe heartache...the cat is seeking love or attention from another cat. I would suggest getting another cat and if you don't want to breed him I would highly suggest that you have him neutered. But I would recommend getting him a companion whether you neuter him or not. He is lonely. Poor kitty.

You'll just have to get him neutered. He's calling for any mate that will listen. If you don't then when he comes in, he'll be spraying the furniture to mark his territory.

I found this true with my female as well. She sprayed my furniture with urine and I had to get rid of it. It smelled terrible.
