Timeless: no, its more like a depressing observation. I would not advocate harm to them; they have done enough on their own and then some.

I have met some that seem to be that way. I can remember back in early 2000, when I was attending a fundamentalist church, the pastor was preaching on the first Sunday of the new year. He talked about the New Year's Eve service they had had. Now, I'm sure you remember all the hype that was present in late December, 1999. You know, the "Oh my God, the world's going to end! AHHHH!"

Well, the pastor said that as the clock started to move toward midnight, he was holding his wife's hand and praying to God "Come Lord, just come back now! I'm ready to go!"

It's kind of weird that some people were actually thinking like that, because it would have already been year 2000 in other parts of the globe.

I guess thinking like that just helps some people cope with the hardships of life. And if that's the case, more power to them, I say. I hope for a good afterlife, too. But I want to enjoy this life as well. I mean, think about it. If God gave me this life, wouldn't He want me to enjoy it and make the most out of it instead of griping about how bad it is and wishing for something better in the hereafter?

I would think so.

I hope not.
We are here to do what God called us to.
God didn't just come to give me life, but life more abundantly.
Throughout the Bible it talks about if you live right (which is basically being ritchious(sp)) Then we'd have a longer more blessed life. Also he has us here to reach the lost and I want as much time as I can to do that. I will have a long blessed life until he comes back and I'm ruptured.
My thought.
When it happens, It happens.

Why worry about things that aren't under our control. God has set to each person a time to live and also a time to die. A person will live until they have accomplished what they have been put here on earth to do. Some are finished earlier than others...it is not up to us, but it is God who decides when we die.

No. I mean, life will be better in heaven, so I'm not afraid of death.
But there's so much to do on earth.
As Christians we serve Jesus...
heaven is just where we go after we're done.
There's not much we can do to serve Him there because it's perfect already.

I will answer that question with something Paul said in Philippians- "To live is Christ and to die is gain". It will be wonderful when we are with God for eternity, but He gave us LIFE so while we have life here on earth, we are to live for Christ, and that is what I hope and pray that I am doing. I do not fear death, because I know that I will live forever with Him, however, while God has me here, I will live for Him,

I can't answer for anyone but myself. God has given me a good life. I am content to remain here as long as He would have me. Yes, I'm looking forward to heaven but I don't dwell on it.

yes. my ex mother in law says she can't wait to get to heaven. not that she can't wait to die just she can't wait to be in heaven. she's actually excited about it. i can't say i'm waiting to die but i know life will be better in heaven. i'm not necessarily scared to die but i think the thought of being dead is weird, the thought of me not being alive is weird. but in heaven there's nothing but peace.
