Sharp's DLP 56dr650 and Faroudja?

Can anyone tell me if DCDI by Faroudja is something that needs to be activated? My understanding is that it upconverts signals to 480p, but when I check the system info the TV states the TV is in 480i mode.

The TV is receiving a 480i signal, but it displays 480p. If you hook up a progressive scan DVD player an set it to output 480p, then your TV should indicate 480p.
